Ash ♡ absolutely NOT! It makes the book so much harder to get through when the hatred for the main character just grows!

ashh ³³ ᵈᵘ ᵈᵘ ᵈᵘ (adiexe) Generally not, only exception being Shatter Me and Shadow & Bone bc they had really good side characters

Izzy | 48 comments Depends on the book but almost definitely no. It will make you cringe and criticize everything the mc is doing.

Andrija Radulović | 10 comments Depends,

I just finished The Magician King as well as Howl’s Moving Castle, and while I was obsessing over the second one, the first one had a slower burn but a much more interesting story even tho I hated Quentin Coldwater and his indecicivnes, his god/hero complex, and his white boy privelege "this cant be happening to me, Im supposed to be saving the world" dude, calm down please. But inspite of him, Magicians King is an amazing book.

💕📚Cassie📚💕 (poeticbookreads) | 87 comments I agree with Izzy it depends. I can love the book/story and not care for the main character it’s not like that for every book but some yes

Sarah (adayinmymediocrelife) | 64 comments I, personally, can't. For example, I LOVE Meghan Quinns books they are almost always at least a 4⭐️ read for me. But I recently read her book "Those 3 little words" and the main character was so incredibly bad to say I struggled to get through it would be an understatement. It broke my heart to rate one of her books only 2⭐️ and that was me being nice.

❤️❀✩ Lala Reads Too ✩❀❤️ (lalareadstoo) | 40 comments I can yes. I personally found the main character in " Good Material" by Dolly Alderton insufferable but that very thing also made him endearing and realistically flawed. So yes. absolutely.

Chi (lc31madison) | 47 comments Definitely! I just finished reading Daisy Jones & The Six, and honestly, I'm not really a fan of Daisy or Billy. Even though they do grow as characters, I still find them a bit off. But overall, I actually really enjoyed the book and gave it a solid 4 stars.
