I'm a librarian and a patron came in with a handful of details about a book he read a while back. I cannot for the life of me figure out what book he's talking about. He gave me the following information:

1. The book had a male main character with a name that began with a C or a K

2. He thinks the author was female

3. The book is probably young adult but may be adult

4. It is a high/epic fantasy that features evil dragon riders that the main has to fight

5. The book was written pre-2000's

6. The main character likes his sister but doesn't like his father so much

7. The word Rose might have been in the title
