Romance book where he is ex- military starting up a security company but he also runs a family cosmetics company.

Spoilers ahead. Romance genre probably published in the last 5 years, read about 1-2 years ago. I’m looking for a series of books about a private security company composed of ex-military and special forces. The first book in the series starts with a girl applying for a job to do PR for an NYC cosmetics company run by our cranky hero. I think his name might be Jackson.??? He has the inherited the company from his dead wife (or girlfriend?) and had quit the military to run the company in her absences. He is also in the process of starting a private security firm (they later go on to do a lot of rescue missions). I think they are staring the company in North Carolina (or somewhere in the mid-Atlantic). Eventually he leaves the cosmetics company in better hands and focuses solely on the security firm. The author has other series and cross references some of the characters here in her other novels.
