I landed on "mafia" on my last spin and it reminded me that it's been four years since the PBT Poll Ballot game. I don't think I've read one since but will admit they could become my secret reading vice.

Elena Abelli is considered a mafia princess. Her Italian family is a significant part of that world. Their marriages are not for love, they are arranged. But because of a past mistake she no longer considered suitable for marriage. Her younger sister is set marry Nicholas Russo, aka Nico, one of the most notorious men in the mafia. Of course, he and Elena are explosively drawn to each other. That's a familiar storyline in all the mafia romances I have ever read.

This story is told in a dual point of view but Elena narrates about three quarters of the book. It's a bit of a slow burner but once they get together it gets pretty steamy. One of the things that set this apart from other mafia romances was the well developed characters. Some of them were very humorous and I could immediately recognize who the next book would feature. I might give it a try if I need another book that fits the "mafia" tag.
