Yep, it took a few days for me to recover from the post-holiday blues. And I was reading some Chinese books which had not have any translation in English and record in GR yet. I will search for more books to read.

Awkwardly I would say Fifty Shades of Grey. Though that was the time I was doing my MA in London. This genre actually is quite popular in China and there are lots of webnovels about Bossy CEOs and with their dramatic love stories.

I've finished a new book

Kelly | 976 comments There’s no shame in 50 Shades! I’ve never actually read a webnovel though - they sound interesting.

I think we may only have one or two more books to read for the challenge. We’ve all done an amazing job this month!

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 839 comments UPDATE

We are all done with our February Hands!!
There is only one (1) mini task left and then we can claim every single point allotted to us this month.

EXCELLENT coordination by every single one of you.
Truly a team effort!

Maddy | 625 comments Nice one! Well done team! :)
Also, witch boyfriend has all black text, I think, so if you switch that with spring ball, who has a mixer, we could be all done today :)
Do we get a bonus if we complete all of them a few days early? I think we should :D

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 839 comments Ah, aren't you the best, Maddy!
Thank you!! :)

WE ARE ALL DONE!!
And guess what, for whatever time it will be till other teams finalize/finish their cards - right now, we are #1.

It sure is a fun challenge, but that indeed does feel good. Hehe! :P

P.S. And YES, they ought to give the team that finishes all its cards almost a week in advance 500 points extra! :P I am going to start a petition now.

Ha ha, good luck with that petition! :D

What are we going to do for a whole week now? :D

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 839 comments I KNOOOOW!
I feel like all my books would be a waste if I finish them between now and Mar 1st! :P

But, to that point, everyone, you can start reading a book, but would need to complete it after the clock runs out on this countdown.

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments Such good news! I know the books I’m currently reading I won’t finish until March. I’m scheduled more work hours this coming week. So I’ll have less time to spend reading.. 😔

message 216: by Becky (new)

Becky (velvetspade) | 62 comments I'm just over here scouring my TBR for green covers 📗💚

message 217: by Lilly (new)

Lilly (lillyreadsbooks) | 16 comments Good job, team! Cheers! I'll probably start reading a bunch of books simultaneously now, to be finished in March :)

message 218: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments So now we don’t HAVE to read until 1st March, what other hobbies do you all have? Other than scrolling books, adding books to your TBR, buying books, borrowing books, reorganising book shelves etc 😂

I like to do a lot of crafty stuff. I have taught myself basic knitting and crochet and I currently have a couple of projects on the go (blanket and bag respectively). I also like latch hooking (rug) and cross stitch (bookmarks). I also like gaming - I have a switch and an Xbox, and love cozy games. Currently, I cannot get enough of Coral Island and I’m DYING waiting for the new Disney Dreamlight Valley content to drop tomorrow.

The best part about all these hobbies? I can audio book at the same time!

I'm actually crocheting a weather blanket where as everyday I crochet a new row with a color based on the high temperature for the day. It's looking really pretty so far. Let's hope I can keep it up all year :)

message 220: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments I’ve seen those! They look so good. I might try one next year, but I also know what I’m like and the chances of me finding 30 minutes to myself to faithfully crochet each day are about 0% lol.

I do boxing with my Pico which is a VR device. There is an app on that called Bodycombat. Don't have the moeny or time for gym. Also, I am learning French and Finance which can be useful in my future work.

message 227: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments That sounds so interesting Ansel! I definitely don’t have time for the gym either, but I do a lot of walking for my job. How are you finding French? I use Duolingo to learn Spanish. Currently on day 105, which my 8 year old is VERY excited about.

message 228: by JoJo_theDodo (new)

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments I was trying to think about what hobby I have besides reading books and collecting books. I recently have been learning more about chickens. I ordered chicks that will be coming in August and purchased a coop. I found a podcast that talks about all things chickens. The podcast is called, Coffee with the Chicken Ladies. So now our family will have one dog, two cats, and seven chickens.

Huh. I am actually pretty much like you. Except video games.
I am bad at finishing my projects though. I have an unfinished cross-stitch project, crocheting project, knitting project and a lot more of different crafty things that I might never ever finish :D

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments I completed Practical Magic and updated the spreadsheet. I'm trying to add this other book called Jayber Crow and it does show in goodreads as part of the Port Williams series, but none of the books in the series are numbered and I had heard this book could be read as a Standalone. So I'm not sure how to account for that? Standalone or what number in the series it would be? Can anyone help?

message 234: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments Amazon refers to it as Book Six, but I might that one for The Boss! I’m not too sure how it works if GoodReads doesn’t say anything but another place says it does.

message 235: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments WELCOME TO MARCH! I have four books on the go. Will I finish any of them before starting a new one? Highly unlikely.

Thank you Kelly. I went ahead and updated the spreadsheet to show it as the 6th book in the series. Hopefully, that helps. Looks like we have a lot of sixes to do for this month anyway.

I also updated the spreadsheet with my completion of Divine Rivals. I'm not big on romance, but I've come to find I really enjoy the Fantasy genre so I really like this book and I'm looking forward to reading the second in the series. Just have to wait for the hold to be available now. ; )

Wow!

I am using Duolingo too! I am on my Day 128. To be honest I used it long time ago, but I felt it was useless somehow, since it didn't make me an expert, but now I try to keep my pefect streak longer lol since it might be the only easy way for me to learn this language, may not be a fast way.

message 241: by Jax (new)

Jax (jaxn) | 102 comments @Jojo I love the Port William series. I also really like Wendell Barry's essays. I might pick up Jayber Crow as a reverse.

Is anyone else having an issue with adding dates read to their books? I mark a book read and make sure it's on the UNO shelf. When I go to set the date I can't click on the box or the drop down to set the date for today. The only way I've been able to add dates is to go my uno shelf and edit it there. This is extra steps so I'm hoping someone can tell me a better way to do it.

message 242: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 976 comments That’s the way I use it as well Ansel! I’m never going to be a confident, fluent user but it’s one of my son’s hyperfixations and it’s how we spend time together.

Jax - I’ve always had problems editing the read dates on GR. It’s also a pain as I’ve been caught out with it showing the wrong date because I’m from the future so I’ll finish it on, say, 1st Feb my time but it’ll show was 31st Jan. I’ve given up 😂

I’ve actually already finished two books this month but I need to get myself together and actually log them. It’s already been super busy as I am starting a new job in a couple of weeks and I’m trying to get all my appointments crammed in before I start since I don’t want to take time off too early into it all!

@Jax - This is the first book I've read by Wendell Barry. I'm almost done with it and I rarely consider re-reading a book, but this one I would certainly consider reading again and I know I would get even more from it the second time around. Lots of quotable text in this book!

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments Hope you all are having a lovely day. It's rainy here, but I honestly like this weather. It's good weather for reading a book while drinking a cup of coffee
or tea. : )

Do you prefer coffee or tea? Any certain favorites?

I like both coffee and tea. I tend to prefer green teas, like jasmine. Coffee I like in the morning with half and half and two teaspoons of brown sugar added.

***Completed Jayber Crow by Wendell Barry and updated the spreadsheet.

OMG, me too!! I LOVE the rainy days, but I get looked at weirdly by everyone when I say that. Haha! :P

It has been raining for the last couple of days here as well and is forecasted to go on till the weekend - so while everyone around me is crying for the weather, I am secretly enjoying it! ;=)

I am not a tea or a coffee drinker - but I LOVE hot chocolate!
Actually anything chocolate.
Uff, now I am craving for some.
Time to go forage the shelves.

My favorite tea is GenMaicha which is tea with toasted rice in it so it has a lot of warmth and is a bit heavy. Perfect for reading with.

I put Jayber Crow on hold at my library, looking to wind up the Port William Series and this will be a good push.
