My reply to [redacted] (email #3):

Can you please remove the name of the staff member? That is considered calling out & not allowed in this group.
Edit also that is a staff member. Librarians are volunteers & we don't answer emails.

My reply to [redacted..."
Carol,
I apologize; I can see how it might have been construed as calling out. My intention was to tie the communication to the person who had made it, in case he wasn’t working today and/or somebody needed to communicate with him regarding the work he had done helping me.
As to the other matter, I thought I was posting in the Librarian Group page, so I assumed the answer I got was from a librarian. If any of the above has been a mistake or a misunderstanding on my part, I do apologize. If you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction, I would be appreciative.
Thank you,
Jenna

Hi Martin,
Thank you very much for your help. If I could attach a screenshot here, I would. There's definitely a Goodreads screen where you can see the book, and a price on the left-hand side. It's definitely on Goodreads. If there's a way for me to send a screenshot to you, I will. Just let me know. Thank you.
Best,
Jenna

Librarians Group you are almost always dealing with volunteer librarians.
It is best to stick with one. Almost everything is very behind in this group now.
I'd be interested to see your screenshot. You could upload it to an image hosting site like Imgur & add it from here. Or you could put it with you 'my photos.' Maybe this is something only visible to American users of the site? (I'm in NZ)
My reply (email #3):
I see that there are three separate versions (formats) of The Compass attributed to me now, and I'm extremely confused because it seems like the one you've attributed to me as the primary version has an image of the book which says "Not For Resale." I also see that that primary version is listed as being a Paperback version, yet the price listed is for the Kindle ebook price.
In addition, I see there is yet another version listed as "Paperback." This second version does NOT have the banner saying "Not For Resale;" but it does still list the Kindle ebook price.
Finally, there is a third version, which has no cover image associated with it, which is listed as the Kindle edition of my book.
As I said, I'm deeply confused by all these different versions and which one to direct my readers / reviewers to. I would also like to get rid of the "Not For Resale" banner on any version of my book; but I'm not even sure how or why it's there in the first place.
Can you please advise?
Thank you,
Jenna Miles

reply to me (email #2):
Hi Jenna,
Thanks for reaching out. I've taken care of correcting the books on your profile, and you should be all set:
Books by Jenna Miles
To clarify, this misattribution occurred because we import our data from external sources like Ingram and direct publisher feeds. On Goodreads, we differentiate between authors with the same name by inserting an extra space. It may help to note that you're known in our database as Jenna Miles with two spaces between your first name and last name, rather than with a single space. This is to differentiate you from other authors with the same name in the system. The spacing is entirely on the database side, so anyone viewing your author profile page will only see one space in your name. Unfortunately, our data sources don't use a system like this – in their data, all authors have one space between their first and last names. So when we import data from Ingram, we are importing all one-space names.
In the future, just remember to add new books under Jenna Miles with two spaces and they'll be correctly attributed to your author profile. Alternatively, you can navigate to your Author Dashboard (https://www.goodreads.com/author) and click on Add a book beneath your stats. This will take you to the book creation page with your correct author name pre-filled.

My original email (email #1):
I'm publishing a new book on January 31, 2024, I'm trying to connect my new book with my author profile. It's title is The Compass: A Novel. There is more than one author named Jenna Miles, and when I search for my book on Goodreads, I find it listed under another author with the same name. How can I get my book put under the correct author profile? Here's the URL for my new book on Goodreads, and I'm also attaching a screenshot showing it listed along with books by another author by the same name.
