has anybody here read the chronicles of the avatar series?? cause i have some thoughts!

the Kyoshi duology are some of my favorite books ever, but did anyone else feel like the Dawn of Yangchen just did NOT have the heart that the kyoshi novels seemed to have?? :(
i plan to reread it and then read the second yangchen book to see if maybe i just read it at the wrong time but i was so disappointed!
