      I feel like he should have told her, but it probably would have started a fight. He was smart to wait until Sam needed the protection.
    
      I agree Susan. Sam is the kind of person who thinks she can handle all of this. She griped about the cops she had tailing her in the last book, after her boss assigned a detail. She would have hit the roof if she knew Nick had done the same thing.
    
      Susan wrote: "I think he was right not to tell her. She would have flipped"I agree. She would also have demanded he call off the investigator and this would not have ended well.
      He was right to not tell Sam he had hired someone to follow Peter and I am so glad he did. Everyone knew that Peter was slightly crazy, but Nick was the only one to take that seriously. Sam would have objected for sure. For Nick's piece of mind, the money he spent on the investigator was well worth it.
    
        
      Nick needs to protect Sam from herself. He did the right thing. The goal was to keep her safe and he did.
