Burnt Devotion question

Were you surprised to find out that Sain was evil? Do you think he was behind Edmund, as he said he was? Edmund and Ovaila think that Sain is under their control, especially since Edmund did to Sain what he did with Ry (erasing his memory, torturing him).
What do you think it will happen in the next book with Sain and Edmund?
