“A five-minute clip on the evening news turned Allison Trent into a full-blown criminal” is the opening sentence in chapter one. It goes on to say she had accumulated more than eighty million dollars within a couple of years, yet she was as poor as a church mouse. Thoughts on another unique opening by Garwood?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Certainly intriguing; who could stop reading at this point?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I believe I mentioned this before, but the beginning is my favorite part of each book. Garwood has the perfect introductions.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I love the introductions too! This one shows us that even though Allison is a poor student with a awesome brain, she is a true "White-Hat Hacker" not out to enrich herself, but to use her abilities to right wrongs.

I LOVE Garwood's openings be it a prologue or the start of chapter one! It was def one of her strengths as a writer. This one, like previous, draws you right into the story. I couldn't wait to find out all about this woman who was an instant "criminal"!

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments This author knows how to pull her readers into the story and keep them reading.

Sucking readers in on the first page is one of Garwood's strengths for sure. I love her prologues and first chapters.
