Shelby Swartzel (shelby_reads2889) | 21 comments it can be hard, but just be intentional. put down your phone and pick up the book. never underestimate the power of intentionality. you could also move spaces

Are you reading for a class or a training?

I love to read, but I've always had problems reading for classes and trainings. I don't have any good suggestions, other than just start and see how much progress you can make in ten minutes.

Killua | 364 comments I love reading its actually one of my only hobbies I have for more then 1 year but sometimes I want to read a book i know is good I even lay it next to me but I just can't pick it up to read even tho i read 30 pages yesterday night and it was so fun but right now I feel so unmotivated that even tho the book could be in my hand I would still scroll its so frustrating because I know that if I just open my book I could easily read it in 1 sitting :(

Killua | 364 comments I mean right now I just keep scrolling through insta because I made a bookstagram 3 days ago and i refresh my page every 5 seconds incase someone follows its so stupid lmao

Elvira Bergquist | 28 comments I get you completely, I can love the book I’m reading and yet I’ll be in let phone like an iPad kid. Usually I just read when I get the urge, which sadly sometimes doesn’t happen for weeks. When I know that I’m actually reading a book I like, I just decide to put away my phone and actually read. Sometimes I have to turn a few pages before I feel like I’m in the story again, rather than just reading words on a page, but after that I can read for hours on end. Good luck!

Killua | 364 comments thanks, I think I should just read as soon as I wake up so I can keep reading instead of scrolling

I love to read everywhere I go I have a book in my hand but lately have been in a reading slump :(

message 13: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Miller | 1 comments I just do audiobooks so I can clean or drive or anything else at the same time. it's hard for me to prioritize making time to actually sit down with a book in hand

message 14: by Killua (new)

Killua | 364 comments @Kayla i tried audiobooks one time but. if I do something else I zone out and I miss parts of the book

Gypsy (ignited_red_queen) | 25 comments If I don't feel motivated to read I usually will just find something else to do, I find that if I force myself to read I will typically not like the book or get bored with it. If it's just a reading slump then I do a few things; I reread a favorite book, watch the tv/movie adaptation of it, listen to the audiobook, watch one of my favorite book tube channels - Jessethereader, Melreads, or Brittany the Bibliophile, and last but not lease browse my own collection of books read the summary and that usually gets me motivated and in the mood to read.

Killua | 364 comments I think my biggest problem is that I'm a nightreader. and I am not allowed to have my phone in my room when I go to bed so I can kind of concentrate but then I'm tired and can't read at all or I finish the entire book and then realise the sun is shining but these days I can't simply read an entire book and just read a few pages and fall asleep so I should probably go to bed earlier to read :)
