Aurora's Dorm

Aurora was a little nervous about the setup she'd put together. She and Cole had been together for a little while but that didn't mean she knew he would like this, but she must have been confident about it at some point. They both preferred quiet, more intimate affairs, but she wondered if maybe he'd be done with Christmas by this point and wouldn't really enjoy it. Ever since she'd sent the text inviting him over, she'd been nervous.
Everything was already set up too, so there was no going back. She'd made some snacks, had her electric teapot making hot water for cocoa, the television was set for any movies, and she had candy and whatnot for a gingerbread house if they felt creative. She didn't have a gift for him, since as far as she was aware they had decided not to do that, but she still wanted something. Especially after being apart for a bit. But she was trying not to feel too anxious about that part.

She didn't have a gift for him, since as far as she was aware they had decided not to do that, but she still wanted something. Especially after being apart for a bit. But she was trying not to feel too anxious about that part.

When Aurora opened the door for him, her smile was tentative. She was still nervous that he wouldn't want this but he came nonetheless. It didn't bother her That was good. "I hope you don't mind but I kind of set up something for us."

"Yeah. Because we didn't get to spend Christmas together, I....made us our own Christmas," she said, stepping back so he could come in and see what she'd already set up. She didn't realize that she hadn't even greeted him, but hopefully it wasn't too weird.

"It's alright if you aren't into it. We can just watch movies," Aurora said, still nervous. "Or...not. I just thought it might be a nice, relaxed way to spend time together." After traveling, she liked doing things that were more low-key, even more than they already did.

Aurora took his hand and moved over to kiss his cheek. She wanted to mention that she'd missed him but it felt like it would be clingy, which was something she'd gotten anxious over during the school break. "Since we weren't doing gifts, I thought an activity might be a nice alternative."

"These are just options," Aurora said with a soft laugh. "But if you want to watch them all, I'm on board." What she'd picked out had been stuff already seemed safe, after all. At this point it was habit when looking for something to watch.

"It was good. Loud, but good," Aurora said. "It was nice to see my siblings and they're lots of fun. What about you?" She asked, going to pour some of the water for hit chocolate.

"That sounds really nice," Aurora said. Not fun, necessarily, but it sounded like it would be nice. "Were there any actual animals there or was it just a benefit?" If it was cats and dogs, having those animals there was normal. If it was some larger conservation, then that was a little less normal.

"That sounds like a good idea," Aurora said. "I might have to tag along for that, if you'd have me." She enjoyed animal conservation though she didn't actively participate in the way rich people generally did.

"Oh, I have all my shots up to date," Aurora said, not really bothered about it because her mother had always been very on top of it with the hope that Aurora would be sent on missions and whatnot off base. Or maybe the hope to keep her daughter safe. Rory couldn't be sure. She smiled a bit. "But I'll double check. Do you want some cocoa?"

"Why don't you pick a movie while I make it up for you?" Aurora suggested, smiling a little more. He seemed...like he liked this and it was relaxing her anxieties. Maybe this really had been a good idea to set them up for.

But maybe what ruined it for him was the painful reminder of how he’d spend it back in the day- with friends he’d never get to see again. Not that he’d tell this to her now, because he knew how she’d react and he didn’t particularly feel like turning this into a pity party. So, for her, he did his part in seeming at least a little enthusiastic.
The room is the size of two bedrooms conjoined and has two sides. Each side has a bed, a desk with a chair, a closet and dresser, and a bedside table. There is a bathroom off to the side.
