Lauren (laurenstern) | 26 comments I definitely think I read too much within a few days and my eyes are killing me! Does anyone else have this issue? I read mainly on my Kindle at text size 10 which helps with eye strain.

Athena Rupas (athenamaerupas) | 20 comments I have the same issue. I have eye issues as it is so I typically have to read the physical book, but I will read on the kindle for certain others who are on KU.

Lauren (laurenstern) | 26 comments I love reading on the Kindle. I just think I was reading too many hours at one time.

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments I'm reading for 62 years hardcover books, because they have a larger font than paperbacks.
Check out your public library. They'll have more hardcovers than paperbacks.

I think your e-book is the reason why your eyes hurt.
Did you see your eye doctor?

Susanne | 102 comments If you're reading on the kindle, turn the brightness down a bit. You can do the same on a tablet but then also see if you can set the page colour to sepia. It helps a lot especially if you're reading at night. Also, at the end of each chapter, look away from the book and focus on something a few meters away from you. That 'exercises' the eye muscle and prevents strain. Hope this helps!

Raymond | 17 comments I am 'older' and I moved to Large Print books - I prefer 'real' books (just a preference). Sometimes, as you will know, large print is not available. Bummer...
On the other end, my eyes, I was using my progressive prescribed lenses, but it wasn't quite enough. I tried magnifiers but my optician advised against those for various reasons. So, I opted for a pair of prescription glasses just for reading. Likely could have gotten them cheaper, but they do seem to work / help a good amount. Less eye strain....so they definitely do help and are better, but maybe my eyes are simply tired? I can only read so much...then I need a decent break.

Diane My eyes get sore if I read a lot on my Kindle...not so much if I read a hardback or paperback...but I just take a rest and use some Optrex eye drops for sore & tired eyes...that normally does the trick for me!👁️👁️

luckykarmatx I love when kindle books come with a free audio for this reason. I can seamlessly alternate between audio and print without losing my place.

Lauren (laurenstern) | 26 comments I think it could have been from having the brightness up on my Kindle since it was dark in my room...good suggestions about taking breaks after reading a chapter. Thanks!!!

Lynn (officerripley) | 281 comments Also, the Kindle *Paperwhite* is really easy on the eyes, no blue light at all.
