Killers of the Flower Moon is on my TBR, and I finally snagged a copy. My husband says the movie was excellent! I refused to watch it until I read the book. I hope you enjoy it.

Good luck and happy reading 📚📚

Lea (leaspot) | 3636 comments What a great list. I've only read Killers of the Flower Moon and Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, but the rest looks very interesting. Best wishes!

I agree. I especially feel anxious about even opening the corporate/marketing ones which have been sitting on my shelf for years now. Haha

Ker Metanoia (kermetanoia) | 16 comments Thanks everyone! I hope putting my list out here would finally get me to reading them. I'm really excited about Killers of the Flower Moon. I've been reading rave reviews!

Ker Metanoia (kermetanoia) | 16 comments As of 1/17: Finished listening to The Alignment Problem: Machine Learning and Human Values. It's a great book that takes you from the early days of machine learning to the present and makes you think hard about the future, especially as it relates to human values. There's a lot to unpack, but it is written in a way that does not overwhelm. I admittedly don't know much about machine learning before this book, but I'm stepping out feeling like I've been educated well. Will recommend it to anyone who has even the slightest interest in artificial intelligence (which is how this book wound up on my list in the first place).

It does look interesting. I prefer science-ish books that are accessible and not too over my head. Good luck with your other selections.

Ker Metanoia (kermetanoia) | 16 comments Finished No Stone Unturned: The True Story of the World's Premier Forensic Investigators. Started great then was kind of ok kind of not as it progressed. I think the major drawback of the book was that it was written as if it were a novel, so instead of like a linear narration of events, there was like an exploration of the the psyche of those involved which could sometimes be confusing because there was so much to keep track. Still mostly interesting.

Ker Metanoia (kermetanoia) | 16 comments Finished Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life. There are some nuggets of advice I might try but I wasn't in love with the book.

message 16: by Ker Metanoia (new)

Ker Metanoia (kermetanoia) | 16 comments Finished The Migraine Brain: Your Breakthrough Guide to Fewer Headaches, Better Health. It's a compassionate and comforting book but since I've been diagnosed with migraine for well over a decade now, many of the information are not surprising to me. I can imagine it's going to be useful for those who don't have migraine but have loved ones who are crippled by the disease.
