Rosa Parks - In 1955 Rosa refused the bus driver's orders to give up her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus which was supported by many and sparked the civil rights movement that eventually passed in 1960 which won equal rights to African Americans.
Q - Qiu Jin - a famous Chinese revolutionary, feminist and poet born in 1875. She talked about women’s rights and claimed that women had the freedom to marry whomever they wanted and the freedom to obtain education. She also opposed the practice of foot binding (which she herself was the victim of). She was executed by beheading.
R - Rachel Carson (Nature writer and marine biologist)
S : Leila Seth Leila Seth was an Indian judge who served as the first woman judge on the Delhi High Court and became the first woman to become Chief Justice of a state High Court, Himachal Pradesh High Court, on 5 August 1991. She was also the first woman to be designated as a senior counsel by the Supreme Court of India.
T - Harriet Tubman - was born into slavery in 1822, and later escaped to Philadelphia, where slavery was illegal. Once free, Tubman dedicated her life to the abolition of slavery as a conductor on the Underground Railroad. She brought approximately 70 enslaved African Americans to freedom in the north.
