Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments Yes, the concrete jungle isn't the ideal habitat for these towering creatures.

message 302: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Zoos that are all concrete are not habitats I like to think of wild animals in.

message 303: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Attempts to make zoo enclosures more like the animal's real habitats is now the preference for most zookeepers.

I didn't have pets as a child, but I had parakeets, finches, fish, cats and dogs later on - though not all at once.

message 312: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Mansi | 22961 comments Quite a lot of people go hunting .

message 320: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 35819 comments Mod
Recreations like hunting are popular in some places.

message 321: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Some regulations are needed to protect endangered animals from hunters who hunt just for fun.

message 322: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments That kind of sport hunting gives responsible hunters a bad name.

message 323: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Unsportsmanlike is how I feel!

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 35819 comments Mod
Very unscrupulous hunters should be fined and prosecuted.

message 325: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Where should they be fined or prosecuted - in the country where the crime was committed or the country where they reside?

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 35819 comments Mod
Xina (China in the Catalan language) would be a good place to prosecute bad hunters because they'd be locked up forever.

Another canditate for criticism would be litterers and people who leave their trash outside the dumpster.

message 330: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments But yesterday I saw a dumpster and trash cans in a state park that were overflowing because no one emptied them!

message 331: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Campgrounds are often so underfunded and understaffed by the government agencies that fund them, so things like that often happen.

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 35819 comments Mod
Dirty parks are an unfortunate consequence of budget cuts.

message 333: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Every time a community wants to save money, they cut parks and education and other items that will help a town grow and thrive.

Funding for school programs like arts is important, but is often small or absent.
