Laura | 30454 comments For sure, and I wonder how many people dress up in period clothing for those kinds of conferences.

message 252: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Going to a Jane Austen conference gives quite a few people a chance to dress in Regency style.

Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments Have any of you seen the screen adaptation of Sense and Sensibility starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet (I thought it was quite good)?

Bella (Kiki) (coloraturabella) | 8158 comments Have you ever been to ComicCon? It really doesn't interest me, but I know it's very popular.

Fact is, book conferences are good places to make useful contacts among authors and editors.

Just to respond to Kiki's comment: ComicCon doesn't interest me that much either; however, were Keanu Reeves scheduled to make an appearance, I'd want to attend :)

Mansi | 22978 comments LOL!

message 261: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Movies and TV do not interest me, so I have not seen Keanu Reeves nor the screen adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.

message 262: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Not really all that attracted to Keanu, but the movie Keanu was super funny, and the Keanu Kitten was ADORABLE!

message 263: by Bella (Kiki) (new)

Bella (Kiki) (coloraturabella) | 8158 comments Oh, really? I have not seen that movie and I love kittens and think all are adorable!

message 264: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Regularly watch documentaries rather than movies.

message 265: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Needs P and Q

Puppies are also cute to see in movies....or happy documentaries about puppies....not about puppy farms, animal abuse, eating dog festivals, or dog fights.

message 266: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments Question is ,are there much movies based on puppies.

message 267: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments (now S as R has been done )

message 268: by Bella (Kiki) (new)

Bella (Kiki) (coloraturabella) | 8158 comments Surprising someone with a kitten or puppy is a great idea, but only if you know they love animals and can take good care of it.

message 269: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Grace  =^_^= | 33366 comments That's a good point.

message 270: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Understanding that a pet is a big responsibility is a hard concept for some children.

Very close bonds are often formed between dogs and new babies.

message 272: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Well, as a child my pet dog used to nip my heels to herd me into the yard and keep me safe and out of the street (She was a Sheltie and my best friend).

message 273: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments EXtremely intuitive, animals are.

message 274: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments You can rely on animals for your safety .

message 275: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Zero chance that I will rely on a tiger for my safety!

message 276: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments Agree on that point.

message 277: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments Animals are reliable only if they are pet,and we have a connection with them

message 278: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Beliefs of dog owners who have pit bulls have had that belief shaken when their dog attacks someone, usually without warning,

message 279: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments Can this be treated as an exception, especially regarding pitbulls.

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 35831 comments Mod
Dogs like German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois' are good police and military dogs.

message 281: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments Every year the police department annpunces The Best police dog prize.

message 284: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Having been attacked by a dog and fracturing my spine in September as well as being bitten by a dog while riding a bike, I'm hoping this subject will soon change to discussing cats!

message 285: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments I currently only have cats for pets

message 286: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments Just a tidbit about me: I am obsessed with cats and happen to be a cat-sitter.

message 287: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments Kittens are the cutest

message 288: by Laura (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Love me some kitties, until they pee outside the litterbox.

message 289: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments My aunt says that if a cat crosses your path , it may be unlucky for you and something bad can happen.

Nitro would be a good name for a rambunctious energetic cat.

message 291: by Laura (last edited Jul 24, 2024 08:54PM) (new)

Laura | 30454 comments Only by getting pets spayed and neutered can we help keep shelters from having to put down unadopted cats and dogs.

message 292: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Pets are usually dogs and cats, but some people like turtles and snakes.

message 293: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments Quite recently on YouTube, I saw videos of monkeys as pets.

message 294: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Rats and mice are also popular pets.

message 296: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Terrible idea to have a pet tiger.

message 297: by Grace =^_^= (new)

Grace =^_^= | 33366 comments Utterly impractical to have a pet giraffe.

message 298: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments Very funny to imagine designing a house for a giraffe to live in!

message 299: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 22978 comments Walls would be extremely long for that otherwise it might bash his head.

message 300: by ☯Emily (new)

☯Emily Ginder | 115446 comments EXtremely unlikely that there would be a roof since they like to eat leaves from trees.
