His character was a vital source of light in an otherwise very dark story. I loved his charachter!

Yes! Though it kinda feels like the series is just barely getting started, but I think it could be really cool overall!

Damien. It’s a setup. His character was created for the sole purpose of capturing our hearts and ensnaring us within the story. Absolutely perfect in his honor, courage, gentleness, strength, beauty… Does anyone else find it underhanded for an author to weave such a perfect man? I’m sorry, no such man exists… well, except for my own husband, of course… but even with him, his ability to raise water walls is sadly lacking 🤔😜

Oh, I’ve read the entire series and have seen this supposed weakness. Even that only goes to display the depth of the author’s manipulation. For how could we know his true character until he had been tried through the fire of trial and affliction? A crafty technique to further demonstrate his strength of character and resiliency.

Lol - I do so love this series… And Damien is absolutely my favorite character 😁

The second one is great! I just finished the third book which gives me more of what I had been hoping for…. The houses are much better represented and more Ciaphas. The battle with the empire begins and things get crazy between the Dark lady and those loyal to her and the Light!

I am so glad you enjoyed it. I feel like the 2nd and 3rd books are where the story really takes off. I loved them both, but I think book 2 is my favorite.
