For the month of March 2024 we will be reading historical romance novels that feature Assumed/Mistaken Identity: Books where MCs take on a disguise or misrepresent themselves, where other characters think one of the leads is someone else. Also includes the Fake Fiancés/Spouses trope

Rules of Nominations:

1. Not more than 2 novel nominations per member.
2. No book we have read as a group read in the last 2 yrs. (Please check the group's Bookshelf)
3. No author we have read in the last one year (see below).

(*we are no longer including novella’s as a separate BOTM. If a novella is nominated, please note the number of pages)

>> Nominations end on January 16th <<

I think the Shadow Earl fits the theme...misrepresentation or assumed identity. I really like Stella Riley, so this may get my vote!!

I would like to nominate: I've Got My Duke to Keep Me Warm by Kelly Bowen

Jan (jan130) | 2666 comments Unmasked by the Marquess by Cat Sebastian. A lovely love story with a different feel.
Unmasked by the Marquess (Regency Imposters, #1) by Cat Sebastian

The Forbidden Rose by Joanna Bourne. This is marked as #3 in a series, but actually it's chronologically the first book so can be read without having read the others. A terrific book and series. In the past I haven't really enjoyed spy-themed HRs, but this one converted me :)
The Forbidden Rose (Spymasters, #3) by Joanna Bourne

Jan - we beleive we read both of those books in 2022. The Cat Sebastian in May 2022 and Forbidden Rose in July 2022. So they will not be eligible as they have been read in the past 2 years

Oops. I checked the ineligible authors list but forgot to check the bookshelf. Sorry. I will nominate these instead:

Slowly Fell: A Tale of Love and Thumbscrews by Jayne Fresina
Slowly Fell A Tale of Love and Thumbscrews by Jayne Fresina

The Other Guy's Bride by Connie Brockway
The Other Guy's Bride (Braxton, #2) by Connie Brockway . (I'm currently reading this one but it's fun and I'm sure others would enjoy.)
