Ink (inkstaine) | 5 comments hiiii i'm ink from the philippines!! 🐈 i feel bad because i've set such a small number as a goal for the year, but i genuinely have trouble with reading outside of uni ;v; my attention span goes down the drain when i pick up a book and i end up having to reread most paragraphs 4-5 times with no progress! so the book gets put down immediately lol

BUT i won't let that happen this year! i bought 📗 Welcome to Night Vale last year and it simply collected dust on my study shelf ever since, but i'll make sure it's the first book i complete this 2024 :)

books i want to read:
📗 Welcome to Night Vale ✅
📗 George Orwell's 1984
📗 The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

Welcome to Night Vale (Welcome to Night Vale, #1) by Joseph Fink 1984 by George Orwell The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (The Hunger Games, #0) by Suzanne Collins

feel free to drop some reading tips and reading suggestions (pls)! i like fantasy, comedy, and romance novels :')

thank you for stopping by! good luck on your goal! 💗

Lisa Grønsund | 6163 comments Hi Ink!
I have to say, and emphasize this: don't ever feel bad for reading whatever number of books you're reading. Ever. And don't compare your self to others! I know that's at times easier said that done, specially in a platform like Goodreads where everyone's reading updates are always in your face. But honestly, as long as you're happy with whatever number you achieve, and that you enjoy the time you're spending reading, that's the most important thing.

I think it's important to keep in my that everyone reads at different speed, and spend varying amounts of time with the hobby that is reading. It's not a race ;)

Okay, I'm getting off my soap box now :D
In regards to recommendations, I was looking through you TBR shelf and would 150% recommend Flowers for Algernon. It's one of my favorite books for all eternity.
I recently read Lovelight Farms and thought it's a cute small-town romance. Also if you enjoy urban fantasy, either American Gods or Omens are good options.

You're welcome to look through my shelves and see if anything piques your interest, and I can let you know if I'd recommend it or not (if I haven't gotten around to rating it).
Wishing you the best of luck with all your reading goals, and with university work in 2024.
Happy reading :)
