Menewood by Nicola Griffith, maybe not technically specfic but she lives there in my mind. Blue egg acquired and also the Swamp habitat (Menewood is in a marsh). This is a long book and you need to have read Hild (another long book) first but I loved how immersive both books were.

Off to a bit of a slow start this year but finally got my 1st dragon egg🤎🐲 The Ghost Brigades. Think I will be ok getting all the eggs, It's the habitats and finished series I might struggle with. I completed about 10 series last year, so I will just have to see how this year goes.

It's also the end of a series but there are loads of different settings in it so I don't know that I can count it for any particular habitat.

Green -> Sequel book in series (Color in Series Title) = Salvage by R.J. Theodore = Peridot - a Green gem and this is book 2 in the Peridot Shift series

lots of battles fought in swamps, near marshes plus the liquefaction of a hill turning it into a swamp/mud pit

I had completely forgotten about this delightful challenge.
As it happened, I have read a few series this year, so I can collect at least something. I claim:

1. 💚 Green egg for The Word for World Is Forest;
2. 💛 Yellow egg for The Dispossessed.

The series isn't complete, so no habitat for these eggs...

3. 🤎 Copper egg for The Obelisk Gate (in the absence of pink or violet eggs);
4. 💙 Turquoise egg for The Stone Sky.

In this case I can also claim a habitat; I'll go for cities. Next will be:

5. 🖤 Black egg for Ancillary Sword (a bit of a stretch, but again there's no gray egg) and
6. ❤️ Red egg for Ancillary Mercy.

The habit will obviously be open space.

In which case, having completed within the year both 2019 series Conan the Barbarian and Savage Sword of Conan, I can easily claim the two missing eggs, white and blue, and the matching habitats, ice and sea (there's no shortage of scenarios in Conan stories!).

So golden egg but no golden hall!

I had a book picked to get the last habitat but then I realized that the series had 5 books not three, and I was not going to be able to read three more books to finish it up this year. So, that was when I decided I was done.
