I really should go finish off that series too. Perhaps something for this fall/winter.
The Gate of the Feral Gods 7 minutes in Ch 31 (view spoiler) 3 hours to go and then I'll go check out the thread from earlier this year.

I just finished... it was a usual amount of bonkers, and now I'm sad to be caught up... cause I need the next one now...

How's book 7 writing progressing?
I really want to look at that and reddit but will wait until I'm caught up so I don't see spoilers.
Almost caught up, for the first time in awhile... if only because so many of my BRs happen from the 10th to the 20th of the month...
Once I finish Stone Sky, my last May book, I only have to read:
Insomnia -- June 1st BR
Coming Up Roses -- June 3rd -- planned work read
Discount Armageddon -- June 5th -- work read
And I'll be caught up... The Solution is Saturday, and that's everything until Monday... then things get crazy again...
Mystery Book Club floaters:
A Whisper of Sorrows
The Liar's Girl
A Killing on the Hill
June 10th - June 20th:
Spirits of Vengeance
Brothers in Arms
Magic Binds
Chapterhouse: Dune
Tidal Creatures
Inheritor
Empire in Black and Gold
The Hork-Bajir Chronicles
Forged
Labyrinth's Heart
Field of Dishonor
Iron and Magic
Killing Time
The Burning Witch 3
Running Close to the Wind
Ravenor Rogue
June 21st - June 30th:
Provenance
Moving Pictures
Pretender
Zoe's Tale
Magic Triumphs
Winter Lost
Charmcaster
Paladin's Faith
Of Swine and Roses
Grace of Small Magics
Bondsfungi
The Suspicion
With all the stuff I've dropped the past few months, I don't think it's too bad... especially if I maintain my current rebound reading speed of 530-600 pages/day... been playing Gems of War, a match 3 game online, with a bunch of daily/weekly content, and it's been keeping me awake better than my old idle games...
June 21st-30th is actually super light, since I dropped Academy, and Swine & Roses and Grace of Small Magics are short stories... just need to stay on top of my tomes, and I might have time for some solo reads... I've got some new releases I'm interested in, like:
Ghostdrift
The Daily Grind 4: A Slice-of-Life LitRPG
And I might find time to join some other standalone BRs on the BR list, that I previously ignored because overbooked, like that one Felina found on Libby...

The new lightning icons everywhere on Hoopla, threw me for a loop (which seems like a reference, since there are also arrow circles in some places)...
Looks like they updated the site to better visualize the old "instant borrows" and the newer "flex borrows" that work more like Libby or Kindle Unlimited... limited supply, limited selection, people need to take turns, and you can reuse the slots when you return borrows...

My mojo's back, baby... or it feels like it is... zooming through books, lately...
Now almost caught up... read everything before today except Insomnia, and 2-3 BRs ahead of schedule (depending if you count the one that I was ahead on when I read it but is now past the start date)... and am looking to get ahead of schedule to avoid falling back behind...
This is about as back, as my mojo can get... almost have room to deviate from the schedule...

Either my neighbors complained to landlord... or my neighbors knew the loud guy was a problem... because he hasn't been around in over a week, now... maybe he was visiting from out of town?...
Either way, life returns to normal...

I bet that is a sigh of relief. Hopefully it stays that way.

what a nice feeling! One I will probably not know with my poor overbooking decisions :D
The blurb for Rogue Team Internation #4 is up on Audible:
Burn to Shine
It's ominous... the title makes sense if you read the previous book... and it sounds like the sequel series is approaching an endgame (altho that might be wrong)...
Either way, it's a big one... could say 10-15 years in the making... this or the next one is supposed to be the one that reveals the backstory of Mr. Church and Nicodemus once and for all... the 300 people guessing it correctly threshold was passed some time ago, and this was some deal Maberry made with his publishers or something... recent books have been peppered with enough clues that I think I know who Mr. Church is... less sure about Nicodemus...
Not coming out until March 2025...

Ahhh, ok I need to pick the series back up again soon then. Might be good books for fall. I'm still on #7 of the main series.
Back to reading The Daily Grind 4: A Slice-of-Life LitRPG, and the main characters are training their new recruits in dungeon crawling in the Cubicle Dimension, and one of the characters just explained that food/drink was safe, with the exception of exploding coffee cups, which falls under the 1994 McDonalds lawsuit ruling that coffee above a certain temperature is no longer classified as food, and is rather legally disinfectant or heavy ordinance... LOL... I rewound that quote like 5x :D
Things are just getting wild and crazy now...
One of the MCs dropped off 7 duplicated human hearts to the hospital with the 1 they stole to test their ability to just magically clone human organs (freaked out police & security)...
The coffee shop they hang out at after dungeon visits just rolls with the fact one of the MCs got cloned a few books ago and the main MC has a pet stapler... and they just tipped the barista a skill orb...
Things are gonna escalate... from what I've seen of the blurbs for this series, secret government agencies and billionaire cabals are on the horizon... real world threats... on top of all the dungeon and dungeon vs dungeon threats...
This book otherwise seems to be focusing on the main Cubicle Dungeon, after the previous book explored a school basement dungeon that provided professions to level up, and they recruited a Mall employee with time/car magic...
This is definitely one you guys should checkout sometime, when you get the time/sales to line up... definitely one I pickup on release now... book 4 is new and book 5 is a few months away...

I just re-read the blurbs for books 4 and 5... book 5 has the MCs name their adventuring party the Order of Endless Rooms... and the villainous shadow organization is called the Status Quo, LOL...
I've taken alot of naps this weekend...
Anyway... Daily Grind 4 has been a great return to the series, for me, after a few months away waiting for the next release... book 3 felt like a bit of a departure, after 2 books mostly focused on Officia Mundi dungeon crawling and a very small cast of characters... all of a sudden real world intrudes, lots of new characters saved, new dungeons discovered...
Book 4 seems to be settling into the new normal, formalizing the new group structure into a bit of a Guild, and trying to get better at sharing information and delegating tasks... also, the MC finally basically quit his office job since he has too much else going on, and it's honestly only getting worse... it's funny how quickly the worldbuilding and lore of this LitRPG is able to be assimilated and theorized, despite all the many punny names/ideas floating around...
R&D members of the group were trying to grow an Infomorph in the basement (sentient idea/meme) and they managed to create Curiosity, and it had a whole Eldritch Cthulhu scene where it bent reality and had a conversation with the MC and his own Infomorph named Secret that he was infected with in book 1, and while it reminded me of Eldritch Cthulhu stuff, it also reminded me of Mr. Finch and his AI in Persons of Interest... and a bit like meeting the Creator in the white room in The Matrix 2... this series is so good... I hope I'm throwing enough random spoilers at you to make you want to read these books sometime, cause I'm doing a terrible job of relating the larger plot, I think, so it's not TOO spoilery, I don't think :D
Also, I did some audiobook maintenance... went through my Audible Library and set all the books I've read before to Finished, that were registering as Unfinished (a real bug that annoys me in the app, but can be sorted on the website much easier)... looks like I have 175 books I've never read before... about 100 of them I bought this year, closer to 150 when you go back to Black Friday and/or the sitewide sale last June... then the last handful are books I dunno if/when I'll ever read, and the last last couple are ones I only got because they were free when Audible still gave you 1 free Original per month... also found 5 books I think I got from Audible Plus that were no longer available, after sitting unread for 6 months to 2 years...

This just became a cross between Matrix 2, Men in Black, Buffy Season 4, and a 4th reference I forgot, already... this is definitely the climax of this book... also some new characters / plot threads have been introduced that I'm sure will bloom in future books...
(EDIT: Hidden Legacy)
Also loving the new ethernet cable snake allies they've rescued from the Office Dungeon... they communicate through Text to Speech technology and are picking names and becoming more distinct/smart...

Finally did the research to figure out how much of the web serial has been turned into audiobooks... the web serial measures "books" differently...
Unless the audiobook starts combining chapters, the first 4 audiobooks cover ~120 of the 276 chapters on Royal Road...
Chapter 276 was the end of book 4, I think, the way the web serial is measuring books, and was released 2 weeks ago... so yea... much different measurement...
I think this is also a case of web serial authors writing more bigger chapters over time... so book 1 might have been audiobook 1... or maybe 1-2 are and then 3-4 are book 2... I skimmed a recent Q&A post, and it sounds like the scope of the series keeps expanding, as the MCs gain power and ability to affect the world around them...
EDIT: found confirmation from an announcement last year that book 1 on Royal Road was books 1-2 on audio... chapters 1-76...

Holy shit... Dave turned his origami dragon into a gundam suit... folds open and has a leather jacket inside he can slip on and they just fly off and scout the enemy base...
Add any of those mech gundam suit movies to the list of comparisons :D

The most confusing thing about trying to get context on Daily Grind Royal Road vs Audible, is the way Argus talks about how "book 3" is when the story shifts to interacting with the wider world more, but I felt that happen alot in audiobook 3, which is the start of book 2...
Readers say book 2 is about establishment and moving into the role of administrator, and I see what they mean, but I noticed that more in audiobook 4, the second half of web serial book 2, after alot of real world stuff already started happening...

But I have somewhat of an excuse this time since I had to study and then passed my Specialist in Blood Banking exam last weekend :)

lol not really... he's an accountant that becomes an accountant to the supernatural, after becoming a vampire... lots of other stuff going on... I love that series... you guys should read it... the finale is coming out soon... last I checked, Drew was writing the finale earlier this year...

My list of make you read it's is way too long... only get to do 1-2 per year... been lots of talk about doing the OTHER Craig Schaefer series, and plenty of things I forget...
The problem with most of my poke series are they're long ones... I don't have too many poke trilogies... I like continuing character developments/adventures...

Grandma Frieda :D
Who doesn't like an octogenarian (she's probably younger, I dunno), who repairs tanks for a living...

Hidden Legacy series. If you keep going with the IA fans, you'll get through them later this year.
my iPod sound playback has been super glitchy since finally updating to 15.8.2... whenever I rewind, especially in the Audible app, sound starts stuttering, and I have to keep rewinding 3/4/5x, until I get the sound to start playing normally again...
Searching online, some other users have been having kinda similar problems in other apps or even trying to make phone calls... since support/updates are supposed to be done on this device, it'll probably be 6 months to a year before I see a security update, and who knows if it'll fix anything, and not just make it worse...

Switched over to Arrival: A Humorous Isekai LitRPG (I'm really in try everything mode, right now, to keep my interest and find something I want to read)...
This has been fun so far, only a few minutes in...
Evil people create Terminator (NSLICE-00P) (Non-Standard Leashed-Intelligence Cybernetic Enforcer), and use it to fight superheroes... it can generally neutralize any energy source (magic, tech, supernatural, etc)... things go well for awhile, mission goes bad, she's captured and reprogrammed and used to fight the evil creators... eventually the best option is to send NSLICE back in time and kill her creator before she's created... avert the whole war... Terminator plot, basically... and it works first try... paradox created, and she's shunted out of the universe and into another dimension... before she runs out of power she latches onto a LitRPG dungeon world, and is assimilated into the world and power source replaced with a dungeon core...
Now she's a human, dungeon, cyborg hybrid... OP and confused basically... and freaking out the cat that helps run the dimension?... no idea... but the chapters are hilarious...
Teminate the Other Dungeon!
Terminate the Earth Dungeon!
Terminate the Spider Dungeon?
Terminate Training Montage
The Bear Necessities... For Termination!
Help Me, NSLICE-00P. You're My Only Hope!
Carrying the Noobs... err "Valued Allies"
The Valued Allies' First Dungeon Termination
Terminate the Beast Dungeon... Maybe... If the Valued Allies Get Around to It...
Terminate the Incursion!
Terminate the Wulver!
That's all the terminate chapters in the first half of the story (27 chapters worth)... there's some chapters without terminate in the name, like Status Report: Systems Online & Overpowered!, and a Bear-y Dangerous Miscalculation...
