Charles Weinblatt (charles_weinblatt) | 26 comments I wrote my Holocaust novel because:
1. My relatives were killed in Nazi camps.
2. My mother was persecuted because of her religion.
3. I feel a connection to those who perished.
4. There are few, if any, love stories about the Holocaust.
5. It is an opportunity to teach young people about the dangers of genocide.

Charles Weinblatt (charles_weinblatt) | 26 comments Thank you Andy. I am honored with your interest in my Holocaust novel. Please let me know what you think. It's a long book, but I'm told that it is also a fast read ("difficult to put down" is a frequent comment). I have a sequel in mind. However, I would like to finish my science fiction novel first. I'm also writing children's story. I require a break from death and brutality before returning to the Holocaust characters.

Are you a writer by vocation? If so, what do you write? What do you like to read?

Thanks again for ordering "Jacob's Courage." I hope that you enjoy it.

Chuck Weinblatt

Michelle (michelle_sutton) I grew up when The Holocaust series was on television and I've always found the entire concept of genecide fascinatingly evil. So I've read just about every holocaust book I could get my hands on. I've even visited the museum in DC. Now that is one serious place. I took my children there so they would understand the evils of genecide. Have you read The Hidden Children, which is a collection of stories about children who survived the holocaust by hiding during that time? Very interesting read. I think I'll mark your book "to read" also.

Beth (bethfehlbaum) | 11 comments Jacob's Courage sounds like a fantastic book. I used to teach Middle School and we read The Diary of Anne Frank, then took the kids to the Holocaust Museum in Dallas. What a very powerful experience.

Charles Weinblatt (charles_weinblatt) | 26 comments You are most kind to place my book on your "to read" list. The US Holocaust Meuseum is a very powerful experience. The more ways that we can teach our progeny about the horrors of genocide, the better the chance that they will despise and combat it in the future.

message 16: by Charles (new)

Charles Weinblatt (charles_weinblatt) | 26 comments Beth, your book looks fascinating. Sadly, abuse is widespread and in virtually every culture. It can be carried forward from one generation to another. Your book will help to shine a light upon the topic in a very constructive way. Good luck.

message 22: by Juliana (new)

Juliana i don't think I'll be able to get *any* new fish for a long time - at least a few months now...

message 23: by Nadia (new)

Nadia Lund (nathanielphopkins) just outa curiosity....how much do fish usually cost???

message 24: by Juliana (new)

Juliana about 15 bucks each, sometimes a lot more. Just depends on the type you get.

message 25: by Nadia (new)

Nadia Lund (nathanielphopkins) ooooo....

message 26: by Juliana (new)

Juliana So i definitely do not want to take the risk in getting a few more when the water quality is this horrible. it'll take months to get the water good enough to support new fish.

message 27: by Nadia (new)

Nadia Lund (nathanielphopkins) that really stinks.....
