Susanne | 102 comments Bear Grylls and Wilbur Smith both have a series of kids action adventure books. I got some for my son when he was about 12 or so and I read them as well. They were great reads and Bear includes some 'survival' tips in his books. My son also enjoyed the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Spud series.

Ivana idk how well it fits your requirements and if he'd like fantasy and mythology but I think the Percy Jackson and the Olympians are great, they're easy to follow and fun and you learn a lot about greek mythology as you go :)

Vanessa (vanessacumberlandcountypa) Our friends' son is 14 and he's been telling us how much he loves Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus series. He enjoys the action and learning about Greek mythology.

The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan by Rick Riordan

Alexandra | 7 comments I think he would love Red Rising. It is like the Hunger Games but on Mars. Another one he would possibly love is the Percy Jackson series.

message 9: by Angeli (new)

Angeli Our kids read:
-All the Rick Riordan series (17 books in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles Series), based on Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythologies.
-The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini (Book 5 was just released). My younger son even wrote fanfic because he didn't like the way Book 4 ended. ;-)
-Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne.
