Trying to remember a book where characters get pulled into a box and have to pass tests to be released

I am trying to find this book I do t know when I read it. I remember a scene where the characters are pulled into I think it was a music box. The girl in the box was crazy and they had to pass her tests to be released. I think one of the tests was them having to stay still and quiet or a blind praying mantis or monster would eat them. I hope I’m not just making this up in my head.
