Em | 4 comments The Count of Monte Cristo—make sure you get a good translation! It was so rewarding because by the end I knew the family histories of many characters and I was SO INVESTED in them because of that. It was like no other reading experience.

Phrodrick slowed his growing backlog I once made a point of reading books that had to top 1000 pages. Cannot say what the longest single book was. Then there is the issue of books that tend to be bound separately , but are intended as a single long read.
Just to get them out there
War and Peace page counts vary but usually over 1000
and the books in the
In Search of Lost Time listed as in 7 parts or as a
Novel sequence by Marcel Proust Page count at or over 3000
FWIW I have a source that says this is officially the world's longest book.
Also FWIW I have re read W and P at lest 4 times, and will re read it again, on part because there is a new, perhaps more true to Tolstoy edition. Maercel Proust, I made it though once and cannot imagine trying to do that again.
