Killua | 364 comments So my problem is that i absolutely can't read during the daytime, because of my ADHD i get distracted really easily or i get stuck in scrolling paralysis. and now I've been reading at midnight but the only problem is that because I can read at night and get completely invested in the book, and can't stop it's just one more chapter and eventually i just finish the entire book. But when I finished the book the birds are already chirping outside. so if you have some tips on how you read with ADHD during the daytime, please share them.

Bella(✨❤️Hopeful Romantic❤️✨) | 251 comments I only read physical books. I can’t read any ebooks because (1) I hate it and (2) I get distracted SO EASILY (the second a notification comes in, I answer it within seconds, unless I’m eating). Then I close my blinds and bedroom door and bury myself in blankets (in the winter) so it’s near impossible to even get up if something distracts me. Now I’m barricaded and trapped in my room with nothing but my book and no options for anything else to do except READ. :)

Heaven | 23 comments I also find reading physical books much easier to focus on and absorb. But since E-books are usually the only thing available for me I've improvised with reading the book in tandem with an audio book, so I'm forced to read slower and actually process the words.

Sam | 45 comments I don’t lol. I only read from late at night to very early in the morning, that’s the only time I can read. But maybe put some headphones in and listen to some brown noise, which I’ve realized works really good for focusing. And not only for reading, just if you need to focus on sth in general it’s helped me the few times I tried it!

Killua | 364 comments thats pretty smart, my only problem is that my room is what I like to call it a (Depressed cave) so whenever I try to read I see my switch sitting in the wrong place so i grab it with the intention to put it back in its dock. but then I rememberI just got a new game, so I tell myself im gonna play stardew valley for only 1 hour or when I see my sketchbook laying around I randomly decide to practice my handwriting and forget im reading lol

brithebusybee | 20 comments I turn on music on my headphones and put a fidget in my hand (something not bright or loud) and read something i love. Usually i can hyperfocus then.

Aly (lyanarty) | 42 comments I don't have adhd butttt I also tend to get distracted from reading when someone has a tv on and people are talking in the background. Sometimes I'll get so invested into it that all the other npise matters but not often. I like it dead silent😂

Teuntje | 15 comments I sometimes like to put on headphones with music/ambience that matches the vibe from the book. As a person with ADHD that realy helps me.

Donna | 10 comments OBVIOUSLY I read INSTEAD of doing the work I’m supposed to be doing…. 🫠

karissa m | 139 comments I don't really lol. I do find it helpful to hind my phone and go to a place where no one else is but I also really struggle with reading for long periods of time.

message 17: by Isabelle (new)

Isabelle I like listening to music while I read so my phone is occupied and then i hide all of the messiness of my room somewhere so I can focus on just reading.

Really? I can hyperfocus with the TV in the background, but if someone has music on, it totally distracts me.
