Have a fantastic 2024!"
Thanks, Nyssa!
I think I am going to have a New Year's Resolution of not buying any more books. I have thousands which I have not looked at, most of which were free, and I spend quite a bit of time every day looking at the lists of what is on sale.
Starting today, I am not looking at those daily lists. I could go three years reading just the books which cost me $1.99, and I think that's what I'm going to do this year.

Thanks, Nyssa!

Checking in. I hope all is going well with you."
Thanks, Nyssa!
I'm up to 33, so I have passed my goal of 24.
For decades I have wanted to read the stories of the old Dime Detective pulp magazine. Many are now available, and I have read five books. Honestly, they're not very good. Oh, well!

We're tied! I am also at 33. Surprised myself, actually.
Those old stories often do not age well. But some of them can still be a lot of fun!

Good work, Christa!
The worst of the Dime Detective books I have read was called Mike Blair. The stories were written in the late '40s, as the pulp mags were fading away. I wondered if they were fading away because the writing was bad!

Haha. I've been off and on reading the first ten Hardy Boys books. They are also, not very good.
Congratulations on finishing your goal.

Homey, I recently picked up the first Hardy Boy book, The Tower Treasure, from 1927, for my nephew.
Hamilton Books had it for only $1.99!

LOL. I honestly can't remember if I liked them as a kid, nor if I liked Nancy Drew. I know I read a few.

Nyssa, years ago I gave my young niece a Nancy Drew book for Christmas. Many years later she told me that I had gotten her started, and that she had read a million of them!

$1.99 is ridiculous for that. What a find!
Someone put a boxed set of the first ten books in the Free Little Library I have in front of our house. The eldest claimed them and we read the first three together and now I'm on book five.
My real goal this year will be to spend much less on books. I have a large number of books piled up. I bought them for a reason, and it's time I get to them!
