PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments I'm still glad that this year I chose Michael Connelly as an author to read each month. The Narrows is deadly in the desert and absolutely terrifying in a flood.

PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments The Reunion Dinner by Jesse Q. Sutanto is the second "busybody" story in Amazon's collection of six. They are short, quirky mysteries that I read as an entertaining break between books.

PattyMacDotComma | 813 comments On a more serious note, I'm glad I decided to give Orbital by Samantha Harvey a try. It's on the Booker Prize short list, and I'm happy to say I can see why they chose it.

Carolyn | 2078 comments The Players by Minette Walters The Players by Minette Walters is an excellent follow up to The Swift and the Harrier. Set in 1685, in the aftermath of the protestant Duke of Monmouth's failed attempt to depose his catholic uncle, James II, it tells of the King's brutal revenge against those involved in the rebellion. Well written and researched with great characters and a touch of espionage and romance.

Sarah | 385 comments Here's my review of Antarctica, an anthology of short stories from the early career of acclaimed Irish author Claire Keegan. I'm posting in the Crime/Thriller/Suspense group as many of the stories have a distinct noir element and/or relate to crimes.
