My way-too-long review for Olive, Again. I'm finding that anything by Elizabeth Strout is a guaranteed 5★ read. Bring on Tell Me Everything.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Time of the Child by Niall Williams takes us back to the small Irish town of Faha in the 1960s a few years on from This Is Happiness and is just as beautifully written.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Commander Annie and Other Adventures

Science fiction and a delightful collection of stories that blend whimsy, adventure, and heart.

The Little Provence Book Shop by Gillian Harvey ⭐⭐⭐.6 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Merriest Misters by Timothy Janovsky
A bit like Tim Allen's The Santa Clause movies, but with a gay couple at the helm. Could have been memorable had the couple not been so whiny.

Still working my way through J.D. Robb's In Death series featuring Detective Eve Dallas one book at a time. I may catch up one day in the distant future!
Celebrity in Death #34 is a good one with the death of a cast member in the movie production of one of Eve's famous cases. Less dramatic than some but with an engrossing mystery and plenty of interaction between the main characters.review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Januaries: Stories of Love, Magic & Betrayal by Olivie BlakeMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This was a fun anthology :)
The Reunion Dinner by Jesse Q. Sutanto is the second "busybody" story in Amazon's collection of six. They are short, quirky mysteries that I read as an entertaining break between books.
My review of The Reunion Dinner
On a more serious note, I'm glad I decided to give Orbital by Samantha Harvey a try. It's on the Booker Prize short list, and I'm happy to say I can see why they chose it.
My review of Orbital
Aesop's Fables: A New Translation
Good, but repetitive after a point. Might work better if read at random, which I did not have the luxury of doing as it was an ARC.

The Players by Minette Walters is an excellent follow up to The Swift and the Harrier. Set in 1685, in the aftermath of the protestant Duke of Monmouth's failed attempt to depose his catholic uncle, James II, it tells of the King's brutal revenge against those involved in the rebellion. Well written and researched with great characters and a touch of espionage and romance.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mind Over Clutter: Cleaning Your Way to a Calm and Happy Home by Nicola LewisMy review 3⭐

Here's my review of The Creeper, Australian author Margaret Hickey's tense and atmospheric standalone (for now!) crime thriller set in the high country of Victoria.

And (the last one for today, I promise!) here's my review of Sidelines by Aussie author Karen Viggers, a contemporary drama revolving around the families associated with a junior football (soccer) team. A great read!

I enjoyed AA Kári Gíslason's latest memoir, Running with Pirates: On freedom, adventure, and fathers and sons. It's a pretty quick read.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
