The brothers made him look really bad because the said he reneged on their agreement and wouldn't do business with someone whose word they couldn't trust. He tried to spin it to look like it was the brother's fault. He embodied everything bad that we think about politicians. I never thought of him as a suspect, just a buffoon.
I grew up in a time when "a man's word is his bond" was the way my dad believed and acted. It is very sad that this politician embodied the sleazy stereotype.
The Congressman believed he could get more money for this land than what was previously agreed upon. I think he thought he could draw out the negotiations for a long time, getting the locals excited about the prospect of jobs, and get re-elected. When Aiden told the people why they weren't going to build, the locals turned on the Congressman. He was never a suspect in my eyes.
He was never a suspect for me. Why would he strike at Cordelia?Congressman Chambers is corrupt and greedy. I'm glad that Aiden and Spenser turned the tables on him.
