I give every book a chance of 100 pages. If by then it still is boring (which was the case with Donna Tartt's "A Simple Story"), then I don't waste any more time on it.
Gabriel Maria Marquez once said that there's no use in wasting time on boring books as there are so many compelling books out there. :)

I'm almost always listening to one book on Audible, and then reading at least another one. And most of the time, I have a secondary one I start or pick up occasionally. The secondary one then becomes my primary read after finishing my first one.

I’m reading a physical one in bed - it’s iron flame for me.
Then I also have an audiobook for daytime - while driving or doing chores. Now it’s two audiobooks as I’m doing a tandem read.
