message 1: by sarah (new)

sarah | 288 comments Yes but it never really works out in the end for me because I usual get too bored with one of them and it takes me a long time to get back to it and finish.

message 2: by Christine (new)

Christine Mathieu | 948 comments One downstairs during the day, one upstairs before falling asleep and one for doc appts and hair dresser.

message 3: by P (new)

P Bagel (reviewsbyp) | 17 comments It depends. I generally will start one book but If I am not really into it, I will start a second book with my fingers crossed that I will enjoy it and when/if I do I will use that second book as a buffer to finish the first book. I am not a fan of not finishing books I start.

message 4: by Sherrie (new)

Sherrie Gallegos | 1 comments Usually. I have one on my Kindle app I read at the gym, drs, etc. and an actual book at home.

message 5: by Rim_reads (new)

Rim_reads | 80 comments yes one physical and one kindle..

message 6: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Rose | 89 comments I have to read only one cause then I can focus on it. I thought about getting audio books I can listen to at work?

message 7: by Alicia (new)

Alicia P (mrsp89) | 2 comments I typically engage with at least two books simultaneously: one in audiobook format for my car rides, and another in either physical or Kindle format for all other occasions. I usually opt for one book that falls under the adventure/thriller/mystery genre, while the other leans towards romance.

message 8: by Lani (new)

Lani Putthoff | 91 comments I am currently reading 7 books!

message 9: by amanda (new)

message 10: by Sally (new)

Sally Chang (sallymacabre) | 111 comments Currently reading 4. I used to only be able to manage one at a time but since I am a mood reader I actually go through books quicker when reading multiple. Also, audiobooks in between while I am at work.

message 11: by 》Janica《 (new)

》Janica《 (janicareads) | 2 comments recently started to read two at the same time, one physical at home and one easy read on kindle for on the way.

I give every book a chance of 100 pages. If by then it still is boring (which was the case with Donna Tartt's "A Simple Story"), then I don't waste any more time on it.
Gabriel Maria Marquez once said that there's no use in wasting time on boring books as there are so many compelling books out there. :)

message 13: by Paige (new)

Paige | 1 comments I typically will be reading a paperback or hardback while listening to an audiobook and reading a book on kindle. I like my kindle for night reading and the regular books the rest of the time.

message 19: by Cecilia (new)

Cecilia Baker | 16 comments I have tried that but I always set one of the books aside and read the one which has caught my attention more.

message 21: by Romy (new)

Romy (readingonemorebook) | 33 comments yes, its the only way i can focus jajaja i know it doesn't make sense, but it works for me

message 22: by ARYA (new)

ARYA I have a memory of a goldfish. When I'm reading a book I have to constantly read it throughout the day/days or in one sitting otherwise I forget what happens so there's no way I can do that with two books

message 23: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Merrill | 37 comments I will read two books at once if they are in a different format. If I’m reading a paper book I can’t read another paper book at the same time. I would read on my kindle. It’s the only way I can keep the stories straight in my head.

message 30: by Iz (new)

Iz (izzz) | 13 comments i go back and forth between books, but i try not to be reading more than 5 books at once

message 31: by Andreya (new)

Andreya | 27 comments I can, but they have to be different. Like one a fun one more serious

message 32: by Michael (new)

Michael Vecore | 5 comments I kind of have to. I didn't start that way this year because it could distract me, but I've gone back to it.

I'm almost always listening to one book on Audible, and then reading at least another one. And most of the time, I have a secondary one I start or pick up occasionally. The secondary one then becomes my primary read after finishing my first one.

message 33: by Susanne (new)

Susanne | 102 comments I often have as many as 6-8 that I'm actively reading at any given time. Usually different genres and on different platforms, kindle, kobo, google books, etc as well as hard copy! I'll pick up whichever one suits my mood at the time.

Rim_reads | 80 comments yes ..mostly one physical and one in kindle

message 41: by brithebusybee (new)

message 45: by Sara (new)

Sara (sarasbooktalk) | 23 comments Yes, I'm such a mood reader.. I've started over so many books cuz I only get past like the first 5 pages. Now i'm almost half way through two books! Now I can't decide which one to finish first. That's the problem with reading multiple books at once.

message 46: by T.A. (new)

T.A. Par | 48 comments It depends on the book, but generally I stick to one book at a time. However, if one book that I am reading is not clicking with me, I will put it down for a bit and start another one.
