Have you noticed the longer you are active on Goodreads, the larger your “to-read” (TBR) shelf becomes?

How do you tackle it? In date order? Alphabetical? Or do you just ignore it and hope to get to the books “one day”?

Rules: For this challenge, you’ll use a randomiser* to randomly pick numbers. Use these corresponding numbers on your “to-read” shelf to challenge yourself to read those books.

10. Unwell Women: Misdiagnosis and Myth in a Man-Made World by Cleghorn, Elinor

It's really hard to rate such an in-depth book about the history of women and the patriarchal medical establishment from Greeks to modern day. It was fascinating, incredibly well researched, sometimes maddening, and it just plain pissed me off due to the subject matter in and of itself. So it was a great non-fiction and I'm glad I read it, but it took me forever to do so.

So far my favorites are Bookshops & Bonedust and When Women Were Dragons, two very different novels, but both wonderful!

@Eldarwen ~ Not only do I not focus on just the books on this list, I just lower my expectations. Reduced my goal to 6, but didn't make it last year. So far 4 of 6 for 2024.

I just finished a 3 month challenge that literally dictated 95% of the books I read during that time (the other 5% was dictated by UNO cover colours 😂). And then straight from that into Book Games.

I'm looking forward to some "read what I want" time one day... 😆

Last year I did the Tower Teams and it absolutely upended all the other challenges I had so I feel you. The struggle is real!

I'm doing book games also and it's really hard to stick to the tbr! My biggest culprit is library books though. I end up reading whatever comes in for me instead of what I planned to read. And none work for this challenge or else I would have read them a long time ago. lol

So much this! Library holds are my kryptonite! I have a bunch of books listed as "On Order" that seem to arrive several at a time.

Speaking of library holds, I just finished Mirrored Heavens by Rebecca Roanhorse! I really enjoyed this series and am glad that it came to a very satisfying end.
