Having problems with a Giveaway

I recently won a giveaway (Kindle edition) and there were problems with my copy. The images were very small and couldn't be enlarged, the poor resolution made it unreadable. I messaged the author about it and he said it was a known problem with the publisher which had since been corrected.. The author asked me for more information in order to get a replacement copy to me, but never followed up after I replied. I removed the book from my Kindle library, thinking I could just redownload it, but no such luck. Help?
