robni7 | 1 comments I am facing a problem with the Delft Design Guide book, which has a few editions that need to be combined. The main problem is with https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2....

On the page, it says “This item does not meet our catalog guidelines and can no longer be rated or reviewed.” (but its status is still Public).

According to the logs, the listing seems “vandalised” by Amazon’s own bot which removed the authors and added “Delft University of Technology” as a new author.

I cannot add the authors back — there is no way for me to enter a second, third, etc author on the edit page. If I am not mistaken, in order to combine editions, the authors need to match (the combine editions tool does not show any eligible editions to combine).

IMO the following works need to be combined in the end:

- https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... (the problematic one)
- https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio... (group of 4 editions)

All in all there is a lot of further cleaning up to do, but getting them grouped should be a good start, I think. Can anyone help me out?
Cheers, Rob

There seems to be something strange going on with some books that were marked invalid by a bot. The book page shows the Invalid message, but the edit page shows status Public. The changelog (bottom of the page: Data sources for this edition) had the status Invalid listed.

Just saving the book (without making any actual changes) changed the status from Invalid to Public.
This doesn't show in the changelog.
(Note: the book page takes longer to show the update.)

I think you should be able to do the rest yourself.
In any case, this didn't need a Superlibrarian.
