Arch | 210 comments I have been reading for over 30 years and it’s hard to find a book to read these days. I’m used to the old story telling, where it would be hard for me to put a book down. These days books are about how good the hero is in bed and those are books that I don’t waste my time on.

There are so many first person books and I don’t read first person books. I also don’t read: erotic books, same sex books, paranormal books (I like the characters to be human), science fiction books, chick lit books, boss/employee relationship books, Wealthy hero: Millionaire or Billionaire (Money can’t buy love), Mafia books. I am not a historical books reader like I used to be back in the day. I prefer contemporary romance books.

I love contemporary books (FBI, CIA, Navy Seals, etc,) that’s heavy on the romance, which there aren’t a lot that I have came across. I still like contemporary books though. The hero and heroine have to have chemistry and tension and no, I am not talking about sexual chemistry. The bed is not where you get to know someone.

I like enemies to lovers books and best friends to lovers books. I don’t like best friends to lovers books where the heroine watches her best friend goes through women like he changes socks or the hero watches the heroine goes through men like she changes socks. I don’t like best friends to lovers “let’s pretend we are together or I’ve hooked you up with the wrong person” books. I want real chemistry and tension. I don’t want a let us take our bodies on a test drive. I want to see why they are in love with one another.

I like to see a story. There must be a HEA. I like when I can see the hero and heroine past their book.

I’m not an author, but I’m a writer and I write stories for myself and stories that I love reading.
