SOLVED. Children's book from 80's about a boy who tries to give away his little brother [s]

I'm seeking the name of an 80's children's book about a boy who tries to get an older couple to adopt his annoying little brother. His brother also writes merry Christmas poo poo head on all of his Christmas/valentines day cards for his class and his mom doesn't get mad she's excited about little brothers spelling I think. That's all I can remember. TIA

Thanks, but I don't think that's it. We thought it might be that one but from the research we did ( although we did not read it, so I'm not positive) the little brother draws on a committee poster and his brother doesn't try and give him away. I could be wrong tho.
