SOLVED. Thriller: Critic + secret society try to kill author. [s]

Hi everyone. I think I read this in 2013/2014.
It was a thriller/suspense novel.


It was about an author who writes a book and gets it reviewed by this famous critic. The review is a bad one, but he tries not to take it too hard. The author goes to brunch with his son and sees the critic, approaches him in the bathroom and the critic is really weird and calls him a "hack."
Then the author gets tased during the night and knows it was by the critic. Things escalate and the author and is family feel threatened by this guy and go on the run, etc?

In the end it was some type of society that was controlling the media, etc.
