Sue | 2733 comments I agree with you 100% Theresa, with each book counting toward one month's tag only. As you said, I'm sure Anita will clarify.

Yeah, I have one of those too - a book that fits both holiday, and a potential tag for next month. I have another that fits a different challenge for 2023, and a PBT challenge for 2024. If I read a book in December, but review it in 2024, could I count it for an ATY prompt in 2024 or 2023? This all has a time slip feel to it.

That reminds me, I have a time slip book that fits December Flurries - for Pretend you're a Time Traveler Day. If we have the Supernatural tag in January I'd be very tempted to put it in for both - because it feels appropriate for a Time Slip book to slip into the new year through a challenge time slip. Excuse the giggles.

ATY (Around the Year group on GR) has no requirement to post reviews. My view for that group (and I am one of the Mods there) is that you could start reading a book in December and if you finish it in January, it would count for 2024. But ATY has no competition, prizes, or even recording, except self-recording for who finishes. The rule is "if you say it fits, it fits" (unsubtle hint that anyone looking for a very flexible challenge is welcome, lots of PBT members are already in it.)

With BWF, we have the unusual situation of overlap between months, that is we can start reading the January book in December if we choose to. But it is also a challenge that requires attention to dates of reading and posting.

One more question on this scenario. Can I post my reviews for extra letters before the word is finished (understanding they may not count) or should I hold on to the reviews until after the word is spelled?

You ask the best questions, and it's great for clarification - - but the answer is no.

Very true. I still need to update the spreadsheets though for R2 and the rejects challenge. And I just like it better when my dates are accurate.

If historical mystery wins here, I'll read one more book for my expanded Centuries challenge. I need the 12th century to fill a gap and there is a series that will work. I tried to read Morbid Taste for Murder last night, but no go.
