Zellian | 410 comments It may have been the reason I picked it up from the book fair.

Zombie Season (Zombie Season, #1) by Justin Weinberger Zombie Season by Justin Weinberger
This is probably a decent book but I just couldn't really get into it, usually I get pretty hooked with zombie books but maybe it was too jumpy from each character for me to focus.

I have the book and it is on my too read pile! I like the vibe of Japanese novels and have read a few over the last couple of years!

Jennifer | 105 comments I'm nearly finished 4:50 From Paddington by Agatha Christie. I have given myself a challenge, by reading all the Miss Marple books over summer! Paddington is the best so far and is #8 in my quest. I still have six to go!
I have this brain that likes challenges so I binge genres or authors! I will set a Poirot challenge next summer that that is a very tall order since there are more of them! Another is to read all the Jane Austen novels in sequence. I have put Sense and Sensibility on the Feb/March challenge so that is my next challenge within a challenge!

Happy reading everyone!

That is a great challenge!

I'm enjoying the character studies in Vera very hard to put it down & I should finish it tonight.

In spite of being fascinated by the Mitfords, I'm finding most of Poison Penmanship: The Gentle Art of Muckraking very hard going. The essay I got it for (American funerals) was interesting though.

& while I didn't enjoy the early chapters of Poison Penmanship so much, I loved the book when it got going. My favourite chapter was on the Famous Writers School.

I'm now reading The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School again by audio. Far easier to follow a YA, but I think I'm not going to adapt to audio (even though the narrator is excellent)

Going forward, I will stick with dead tree & kindle books!

I'm glad I persevered with the above book because it was very good indeed & covered a lot of important points.

I discovered I could concentrate better if I did something else at the same time (housework/gardening)

Not an audio convert but not totally against either.

4.5★

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 1760 comments I just can't make Goodreads work. Can't get my author page altered, the book covers corrected or the blurbs updated. So frustrating.
AND TIME!!!
Where is there enough to put out reviews? I'll keep trying but with so few years left I want to write all the stories in me!

I missed the book challenges again!!! Anyway was most impressed by Victoria Mas's 2nd book 'The Island of Mists and Miracles'

The Island of Mists and Miracles by Victoria Mas The Island of Mists and Miracles

A quick and slightly shocking read, the story takes a good look at people and what belief can do to individuals. Will try the library for her first prize inning book. She has a light and lucid writing style I enjoy.
