Ann-Marie | 5570 comments Started (through ch 17) and no surprise I am absolutely loving it <3 (view spoiler)

Yes I am still behind on books and yes I started this one already ahead of other books I should have read already and no, I am not sad about that at all! I am sad that this is the last one for a while though.....

Ann-Marie | 5570 comments Chapter 18 (view spoiler)

LOL I feel this so hard, Ann-Marie... I'm putting this off for the same reasons, only opposite... because it's the last for now, to make it last, and as a treat to look forward too after cleaning up other books...

I'm generally juggling / spinning plates, with my BRs, to try and line up a perfect rotation of book types / audio formats / battery drain amounts for work & home, etc etc etc... constantly changing my plans based on mood in the moment of choosing the next book, too... it never ends :D

Ann-Marie | 5570 comments I am currently watching my 3-year old nephew so sadly I had to stop the audio for now but yeah, this is just the best. And I rewarded myself for finishing the Mary Stewart book earlier today, I felt like I deserved something for sucking it up and finishing that, still need to post in the thread lol

Hear hear!

For some reason this makes me think of @Iain's foot update thread that he supposedly made to please the AI...

I made the one post in the foot thread, then never really did updates as it progressed for weeks on end... been back at work for most of 2 months now, and it still aches a bit at home, but doesn't really bother me at work...

In early/mid-March I was given a 1 month supply of Diclofenac, an anti-inflammatory / NSAID that's a bit stronger than tylenol/etc, I guess, and told to take it twice a day for 30+ days... I did that and it came with a pre-approved refill so I got it just in case around the time of my final orthopedic doctor appointment (I cancelled the optional 2 month follow-up, because things are going well)... I kinda just slowly weaned myself off the Diclofenac as needed since then / last month... took 1 a day for awhile, then every other day-ish... now I just take one if my foot is being especially bothersome, so after work... still have most of the final bottle of pills...

And it's almost an over-the-counter med, I think?... they make OTC Diclofenac gel to rub onto arthritis pain points (Voltaren)...

Ann-Marie | 5570 comments Chapter 28 and OMFG (view spoiler)

Glad things are going well!! You'll have to give us another update a year from now, and assure us that the pain is entirely gone...

Apparently there are depths of depravity even I'm unaware of, lol...

I know about -ussy portmanteaus, but never heard nussy/knussy before... urban dictionary google result to the rescue... if I'd mentally added a k, I'd have realized what it was...

only body part I could think of with an n was neck, but that's already covered by throat...

It was a blast from the past for sure lol

I describe these books as stupid, ridiculous but wonderful <3 My IRL book club theme for August is Favorite Fantasy and I was going to nominate The Last Sun but that ended up winning for July so I think I am going to nominate the first in this series!!!!

For future LitRPGs we can Buddy Read, I'm gonna stop trying to plan/suggest far in the future, and play more with what's available to us from sales as we read our current plans...

Given the nature of LitRPG production/accessibility, most of you guys want to try and catch them on Audible sales, since they're Audible exclusives, so we're kinda at the whims of the monthly sales titles, until the next sitewide sale...

That said, i think we've picked up a fair amount of possibilities in the past 6 months, right?

We have He Who Fights with Monsters coming up from Saar's BR invite I think?

And looking at my purchase history, I/we have:

Arrival: An Isekai Adventure
Archemi Online Chronicles Boxset #1-3
First Line of Defense
The Path of Ascension Omnibus
For the Loot: A LitRPG Fantasy
The Mayor of Noobtown has been a bit of a dud...
Still need to continue Cinnamon Bun 2...
I personally am interested in the other Ravensdagger books, and fell down the Argus rabbithole and need to read The Daily Grind 4: A Slice-of-Life LitRPG, since it came out last month...

That's everything we talked about from the past year, I think... other than Thundamoo stuff, and anticipated Beware of Chicken sequels/etc...

I also bought Archemi and The Path of Ascension plus For the Loot is like $3 which I know are famous last words.....

I've been picking up Argus, Ravensdagger, and Benjamin Kerei when I see them in sales... Pirateaba, Dinniman, and Delemhach are instabuys for me now... and keeping an eye out for Sarah Lin. Cultivation, LitRPG, and Indie Books are kind of blending together for me...

I have everything on your list except for For the Loot, and some others I think you burned through without inviting me... not that I'm bitter about that, oh no... Though if Ann-Marie says its like $3... famous last words indeed.

I actually have a Poke for June to remind y'all about Burning Witch 3 and Vigor Mortis 4 etc... I feel like I'm forgetting something... oh yeah! The new Rachel Aaron is coming out next week too! We need to do something about those.

Nirkatze | 21255 comments Actually--@Ann-Marie--where are you finding For the Loot: A LitRPG Fantasy for $3? I'm seeing it for $30... same price as the 1-3 omnibus, actually...

Oh I have KU and if I borrow it then the audiobook is $3.11 or something like that. Sorry, I should have added that!

Ann-Marie | 5570 comments Meanwhile if they just START THE SALE.....

Ann-Marie | 5570 comments Also I am going to join Dinniman's patreon! I just found out he was at Con Carolinas and so was KD Edwards so now I am doubly sad I missed it this year. With my mom's health I didn't want to plan a trip and then it was too late. Oh well, hopefully both will be there next year <3

Never forget to scrolldown and check whispersync pricing, and whether or not the ebook is on KU

Same... it increases my options for buying books outside of sales, when I don't want to use all my credits and buy another 24 early or 3 pack all the time... even 7.5 is a little cheaper than 9.5 and adds up... the super cheap $2-4 ones are really nice...

In fact, it's generally worth checking during sales, too... sometimes the sales items are more expensive or the exact same price as whispersync price...

Nirkatze | 21255 comments I tried KU out for a month in January... I don't really want to subscribe for a year, but I'm thinking I might subscribe for a month (soon) just to take advantage of those whispersync deals... been keeping a list...
