Samantha (mirymom) I don’t really stay up all night for anything anymore. But when I was younger I would stay up to finish a great book. I don’t remember what the last one was though cause I was probably still in my 20s when I read it.

message 47: by Dee (new)

Dee Turner | 17 comments I used to have an old dog who couldn't make it through the night. Three dogs later (and our current one can easily go 12 hours, bless her canine heart!), I still wake up at 1 or 2 a.m. Then I have to take meds at 7. I find that 5 or 6 hours of uninterrupted, quiet nighttime reading is crucial to my mental well being. It's how I get to read at least 150 books a year! (I'm retired, so I can sleep anytime during the day, although a nap is never more than 1-1/2 hours and there'll only be one in any given day.)

Amen dog-sistah:)

message 50: by Marijo (new)

Marijo | 15 comments Through the night. I was reading the last book of The Lord of the Rings, and I couldn't put it down. I was heading out of town the next morning and would be busy at a conference. I knew I wouldn't have time there, so, despite my initial efforts to get to sleep, I gave up, turned on the light and read through the night.
