I am looking for the Title/Authors name for a book I read over 20 years ago.
The authors introduction freely admitted what he had done was rewritten Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu for the modern day (late 1980s/early 1990's) as I remember it the plot more or less followed the original, save that the girl is turned into a vampire.
The ending is what I remember clearest, after killing her ex-boyfriend the girl realises what she has become. Has an argument with the vampire that created her and then leaves. The creator then starts to plan to find another girl.
After the story was a note that the author had written a second novel involving vampires using a dance club for cover. Unsure if this second novel was a sequel.
