Sadly it is the long read that I have put off to the end...maybe I make it, but probably I don't.

It is a very sweet book, Terris. I'll be interested in your reaction. I was in the mood for something less taxing, so it fit the bill for me.

I am closing out all the challenges except the Decade. I might still get those two read before the end of the year.
It was a great challenge year for me. I completed more challenges than I had committed to. Failed to get the Long Read done for the Second or Worse and didn't re-read as many as I had hoped for. I did not meet my goals for the series challenge, but I am a very happy camper because this challenge helped me to complete a couple of series I had started and make progress on all the others. I think this one was a case of over-promising myself.
Excited for next year!

You've accomplished so much Sara, and it's great that you're happy with your challenges! Yeah, it's hard to resist overcommitting, but planning is part of the fun! You read some great books, and that's the main thing. :)

Thank you, Annette. I enjoy following you as well.

I always have to remind myself that the purpose of the challenge isn't actually to complete it--it is to read great books trying to. Thanks for all the encouragement over the year, Wobbley.

The Lighted Heart by Elizabeth Yates
I just loved it and think you will too. Here is my review:

Hope you don't have trouble finding it -- my library system only had one copy!
Lori wrote: "You definitely had a great reading year, Sara. So glad to be able to share some of them with you. Looking forward to what 2025 brings!"
You and I are a little addicted to the planning, I think, Lori. I'm excited about 2025 already! And, you know how much I have appreciated the opportunity to learn from you and to share with you this year.

Said one of the most inspiring readers on the planet! I was determined to quit by the end of November and leave December for other pursuits. It is hard for me not to keep trying to finish them all right up to the last day of the year.

Thank you, Shirley. I'm blessed to have spent much of the year reading with other motivating reader, like yourself. I especially enjoy our Dickens reads and am looking forward to another in 2025.

Thank you, so much. I went on a quick search and found that Archive.org has a copy...so, I can read it that way if I can't get a copy otherwise. I put it on my short-list and will be sure to read it first of the year. Sounds marvelous!

Yay! :)

Thank you, Laurie. I have gotten pretty good at choosing for the O&N. I give it a lot of thought.
I have added the Decade Challenge to my completed list and I am positively shutting the door on 2024. I committed to 10 challenges and had five maybes. I completed 12 challenges, but two of the ones I committed to were not completed. All together, a rather good year for me.

It was a soothing and sweet read, Wobbley. Read it after you have read something intense and just want to go on vacation.

You will love it, Wobbley!

Thanks, Lynn. You know I am OCD about the challenges and cannot stand that I did not finish them all. LOL. Less ambition might be a good thing for me.

Thanks, Kathleen. Much of the fun is sharing them with other astute readers, like you! Cannot wait to see how many books you add to my TBR in 2025.
