message 2: by ♡ jess ♡ (new)

♡ jess ♡ I am usually always doing one of each! I listen to audiobooks while I work and drive then I read when I have time at home or as a passenger :)
I definitely feel like I go through more audiobooks though because they are easier - and I listen to them in 2x speed at least lolol

message 3: by ACOGray (new)

ACOGray (eileengray) | 9 comments I just listened to my first audio book on a road trip. I really enjoyed it. I don't know if I would do it if not driving as I still am old school and like reading physical copies of books - I have yet to try a Kindle.....

message 7: by Sam (new)

Sam K (zutara123) | 251 comments I prefer print. I do audiobooks too. It is nice for when I am doing other things or in the car. I feel like I am able to understand the story better when I read it for myself though. I feel more immersed in the story reading from physical books.

Kate Reads | 48 comments Print. I am not an auditory learner and I find that I just tune out the audio. Also, I am not in the car that much so I listen to music there. And I really enjoy reading so when I am doing it, I want to pay attention and be all in.

Noel ◇So Dance, Dance Like It's The Last, Last, Night Of Your Life, Life, Gon' Get You Right◇ (noel4444) | 46 comments Print, Because audio books are really weird , because someone reads it and you have to listen to it so it's boring.

audiobooks can be useful for when you have a lot to do, for example in the household, but also want to devour a book and maybe not always listen to music, idk. I just prefer reading myself.

I usually only switch to an audiobook if i want to have a book read, but don't want to read it, lol.

TimeFliesAway | 121 comments ♡☆Noel☆♡ wrote: "Print, Because audio books are really weird , because someone reads it and you have to listen to it so it's boring."

hmm, idk. Audiobooks are basically just like listening to music, except you have to focus on the words. Beneficial while doing physical activities (exercising, walking, driving, cleaning, etc), which you can't do with prints or ebooks.

message 15: by Steamwing (new)

Steamwing | 38 comments Print, for multiple reasons:
1) For me, audiobooks are a bit weird. Maybe it's because when someone reads to me, I can't focus on the words.
2) If you don't pay attention for a moment, you can't go back as easily.
3) I just like the smell of a print just unwrapped .

It's just my opinion. Please don't hate me.

message 16: by Linda (new)

Linda | 1 comments Audio books most of the time. Sometimes Kindle books and sometimes I'll use them as reference while listening to an audiobook for example to look up a word or character.
I do not read printed books often. Anything that's a bit older causes me to sneeze from the dust like books from the library so I prefer to get digital whether it's audio or on the app like Kindle or Libby.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Kat Reads °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ I would have to say print, though I listen to audiobooks frequently when I am driving, cleaning, and cooking. I enjoy them because I would much rather listen to a book than to music. Also, I read on a B&N Nook, which makes going anywhere with a book so much easier.

tara ౨ৎ ⋆。˚ printed mainly because i can’t hear anything without subtitles

leilabug ♡ | 27 comments print, always and forever. tried audiobooks before and my god I hate them. can’t stand it. don’t know why, I’ve always hated them. I get it if you like it, it’s just not for me

message 20: by Hermione (new)

Hermione | 18 comments I could never concentrate for long on audiobooks, I want to be able to flip the pages on my own pace, go back and reread stuff and that's not easy with audios.

message 21: by Andi (new)

Andi | 3 comments Both~!

message 23: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 130 comments I do both, but I prefer print. I get impatient with audiobooks and only use them when I am doing other things so the book can play while I work, walk, mow or whatever. I like my own imagination better and I read faster.

message 24: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia Sylvie | 9 comments Print.
I've tried audiobooks but I can't seem to focus on it and it's not exactly easy as English is not my first language.

message 25: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessacumberlandcountypa) Good question! I'm primarily a physical print reader but on my work commutes (40-50 minutes each way) I listen to audio books. I sometimes have to listen to a disc a second time or go back a track if I miss content due to my paying more attention to my driving than to listening.

message 29: by Fatima (new)

Fatima (fatimanwreads) | 1 comments print > audiobooks > ebooks
I start with print and then switch to the audiobook if the book is boring me to death but I am too far in for dnfing. Rarely start audiobooks otherwise.

message 31: by Juliette (new)

Juliette (lettie_loves_books) | 1 comments Print because I have a more difficult time focusing when its an audiobook

message 32: by Aniruddha (new)

Aniruddha M (anim) | 34 comments Never tried an audiobook, so can't say. It's either print or digital for me.
In my mind, an audiobook poses a significant problem for someone like me. If for a moment I lose focus, I'll have to go back and listen to it again (it may happen with other forms also, but not so frequently).
But that's just me!

message 33: by Lilly (new)

Lilly Guirguis | 37 comments I like audiobooks more because they have funny voices for all the characters, and sometimes with print books, it’s hard to imagine what characters sound like

message 34: by L.D. (new)

L.D. Beers | 3 comments I enjoy both print and audiobooks. With that being said I have to admit that there was a time when I was a print snob. However as I am getting older now and losing my eyesight. I have come to enjoy audiobooks.

message 46: by weirdlikemommy (new)

weirdlikemommy | 2 comments Audiobooks are great! It’s fun to hear all different voices, but I usually hear them while I follow the lines on my kindle. I cannot focus without any text. So for me it’s both hearing and reading.

message 47: by Robert (new)

Robert Glenn | 0 comments Both, but I listen to audiobooks far more than reading physical copies these days. I work two jobs 7 days a week to support my family and that doesn't leave much downtime for reading physical media. But when delivering bread on the weekend, driving anywhere, and while doing any household chores audiobooks are one of the few treats I get to indulge in.
