Setting Primary Cover Image for multiple editions of the same book

I have republished my book A Tale of Two Maidens. I have combined the old editions with the new and want to make the incredible new cover the primary image for the various editions and formats of the book. I have tried many approaches but the old, dull cover keeps returning. Suggestions are welcome!
