Do you guys finish one book before moving on to the next or, do you jump between different books?
Which one is "better" in your opinion?

I have to finish the one I'm reading before starting another one unless the book is too long and too boring. So, instead of falling into a reader's slump, I start a new book (preferably 150 - 200 pages) just to keep me motivated to read until I finish the long and boring one and then to back to one at a time.

My attention span can’t usually handle more than one book at once- it’s how some books end up unfinished because I get caught up in something else, lol. I even sometimes purposefully wait for entire series to come out instead of one book at a time so that I can go through the story all at once.
I read multiple books as I read in different formats like audiobooks, paperbacks, and ebooks.
Multiple books happens frequently for me bc adhd and mood reading. I've been mostly good with that this year but sometimes one of the books I'm reading isn't holding my attention so I dip in and out of reading it. When I've dipped out I can start and finish other books that are more interesting to my brain at the moment.
I can't jump between books unless it's one novel and a manga/comic. I have to finish a book before I can pick up another. If I do get tired of a book I'll leave a note on it with the page I was at and what was going on and pick up another book to maybe come back to that one.
It entirely depends on your preference. I read between 3 to 5 different books because my entertainment goes in zigzags because of what kind of plot I want to invest myself in.
I am such a mood reader, I definitely have a couple books going at the same time. But I try to keep it to one book per modality, so one on my kindle, one physical book, and one audiobook!
I read fast so i usually only read one book at a time, but i have like a pile of "books i wanna read". it also depends like if the book is small ill read a small one and a big one at the same time
I can read multiple books at the same time, but I generally try to keep them in different genres - I can be in the middle of reading a novel, a memoir, a nonfiction book, and a book of poetry at the same time, but I don't usually find it easy or enjoyable to immerse myself in multiple fictional narratives at once (and I find that if I'm enjoying one story more than another, I'll just plow through the one I'm enjoying first and leave the other one for later anyway!)
I like choices in what I’m reading so I usually have several books going at a time, and they don’t have to be different genres but they do have to be different. I can read two nonfiction but one needs to be science and the other can be business related
I've jumped from book to book but found myself getting to bored with one then not finishing cuz the other one took over on my interest. I think if you can do two maybe even 3 at one time then you truly have great talent. I recommend one at a time but that's just me. happy ready yalle☺
one at a time, if I do start another, the first usually becomes a dnf.
I may jump between books, or a series of books (like Odd Thomas) and alternate books. I avoid doing that with very similar books (detective ones, wizard ones, space adventure ones, etc.) because sometimes parts of one then gets jumbled up in my mind with parts of another.

I can't tell opinion for others but in my case, I always read jump between books. One classic/award winning boredom book, one fantasy & one romcom

If the story is still boring after 100 pages, I stop wasting my time and read the next book on my TBR mountain.
The only exception from the rule was Donna Tartt's "The Secret History". My friend kept persuading me to keep reading, but after 350 pages I gave up. The "plot" never got to the point.
I bounce between books. I can't help it. I would love to read one at a time, and I used to.

I read multiple books at a time. If a book is really good I will start and finish it without interuption of other books. Sometimes it is nice to balance light/happier books with sad/historical fiction/memoirs/murder. It is rare I don't finish a book. I am a completionist at heart and if someone recommended I book I struggle to finish I will force myself to get through it.

I have one audio and one physical book going pretty much at all times. I like to make sure they are very different types of books though.
I usually read multiple at a time. Most of the time I'll have one physical book and one audiobook. I will sometimes add some manga or graphic novels too.
I prefer one at a time. I like to devote all my attention to one book. However, I have had books I need a break from and I'll move to a completely different genre for a bit. For example if I am reading fiction thriller I will read a bit of a memoir/autobiography. But as I said, it's rare.
With prose/non-fiction, I read one book at a time - poetry collections I usually just pick up when I feel like it and then put it down till I'm in the mood again. I feel like poetry is less time commitment but I really need to be in the right headspace to get the most out of it, so it's not like I can just read it to fill in time.I read a bunch of comics outside of this whenever I feel like it as well, so I guess the tldr answer is: depends on what I'm reading.
it depends on my mood. I can sometimes finish a book in a day or two. Other times I have 5 books I'm reading at once.
I usually read one book and then move onto the next. Sometimes i'll put one aside if it's not gripping me and come back to it after reading another. It's too confusing for me reading more than one at once :p
usually read one book but sometimes I get bored of the book and start another one but I always end up finishing the second one I started and either dnf the other one or try to get thru it and sometimes blend the info between the 2 books and it gets confusing lmao (I'm doing this rn help)
I jump between. I don't know if i'd necessarily say one is better than the other, it's just what i've always done. I'm getting bored of one or need a break, pick up a different one. I'm super excited to read this book other than the one I started, I have no shame just reading the one i'm most excited about.
I have three books on the go at any one time; one novel, one non-fiction (physical books) and something on my kobo. So i can switch depending on my mood and where i am
if I'm jumping from one book to another, it means that I'm not really enjoying the book because when I love a book, I read it in one sitting
Definitely a “one book at a time” person. Never been one to read multiple books at the same time. I don’t want to risk having one book dominate my attention more than another and then trying to remember plot lines from a book I’ve not touched for a week or two.
I currently have 22 on the go. However, I generally focus on 2 or 3 until completion, in addition to progressing through each of the others.You don't only watch one television show or only eat one type of meal per day. Why would you limit yourself to only one book?
I usually have one main one that I read consistently and then a couple others that I progress through gradually.
I used to do one book at a time but I tried out multiple at once and it was great! It helped me take breaks during books that I either didn't enjoy or just took longer to read.
as someone whose got horrible memory and gets confused easily, i can only read one book at a time haha, sometimes two
I always read two or three books at the same time. In the evening I want something light and relaxing. In the morning I'm more in the mood for nonfiction or more substantial fiction. It often depends on my mood what I want to read. And sometimes I can't find anything to please.
I like reading two or three books at the same time so I can jump between them. Especially when I'm reading classic literature, which is difficult in terms of language, this relaxes the brain for me
I read one book at a time. I get fully immersed in the book I am reading. I think I’d get characters confused if I read more than one at time.

I've always been of the opinion that it's important to concentrate on one story so you could be immersed in its environment to the full extent, but since my job takes up much of my time, I have to alternate paperbacks with audio books. As of now, I read one printed book whenever I have a day off, and listen to an audio book on my way to work.
I could absolutely never read two books at once. It would confuse me.

I'm currently reading three for my bookclub challenges. They are on different devices, so depending on which device is near, and charged, I'll continue that book on there.

I try to finish 1 book at a time. However, if I am having trouble with a book, I will put it down and pic up something else to read as a break. Also, I do a lot of audio books from the library, and sometimes I don't finish before I have to return it. If I have to wait for the book again I will pick up something else in the mean time.
