ooh I'm guilty of doing this. 😭 sometimes there's just no words to explain (or I know my opinion won't be received well 😂)

I feel you, and that explains why I only have 2 hardbacks, cause I can' stand it, and it's just so much easier to read without it :))

I 100% agree with you. It kinda makes me feel like they are I don't know the word for it, but almost petty and greedy for not letting us get a bonus chapter alone, like I don't want the whole book again. But that also makes you really appreciate the author that add the bonus chapter in their newsletter 😘💕

Those are dust jackets and they're supposed to protect your books from dust and grime and dirt while they're sitting on your shelves. I think most people remove them when reading... at least I do. I remove the dust jacket when I start the book and when I'm done I put it back on and onto the shelf. Hope that helps!

You don't need 10 special editions of the same book.
You don't need to keep buying every new release on the market.
You don't need every bookish item advertised to you.

I might get some hate but fr! Glad someone finally said it tbh. I love books but some people take it a bit far....

so true!! feels like you're not even seen as a 'reader' unless you own like 100+ books and buy every new release

I totally agree with you. Because I sort of joined goodreads to make friends and have people to actively talk to about a book I'm reading or a book I've already read. But it's like people ever hardly see my reviews, so now it's like I mostly use it to check book summaries and that stuff.

I also agree with you. These days it just sorta feels like the book summaries say one thing but it's totally different once you read it.

I share this tendency. I don't annotate.

There is an episode from Seinfeld discussing part of your opinion. Jerry Seinfeld says something like 'Why do people keep books in their homes like they're trophies? Have you read them? What do you need them for? You know when you read Moby-Dick again, Ahab and the whale become friends.'
Not exactly true to life, but I liked this episode.
