You know? That's what I thought too, but some people say that she's Katniss' grandmother that's why Katniss father knew the hanging tree. I would like to believe she lived...

I love this and I hope it's true, but I have heard a theory that Maude Ivory is Katniss's grandmother, and I think that one makes sense to me. If I remember correctly, Maude could remember the words to any song, even if she had heard it only once. That would also explain how songs got passed down to Katniss

That's an interesting theory. How do you think she died? Nightlock? When Snow shot the gun? Peacekeepers? Other?
