Christina when would you like to read this? I hoping to be ready to start on the March 31st or April 1st, however I will wait until it's a good time for if those days don't work for you.
Sorry I didn't get back to you until today Ora, to tell the truth I wrote our book down and then spaced it until April 1st. I am planning on starting The Unleashing as soon as I can finish the 2 I'm reading now. One is being troublesome as I can't seem to enjoy the heroine and she's making me want to choke her LOL. So I'll be ready to start this one, hopefully by Saturday. If you would like to go ahead and start now that should be fine. I'll catch up.
This weekend sounds good. I'm finishing up a book tonight and waiting to see what it rolled for the rr 5 challenge so I can figure out what to read for Friday.
Sorry I'm not done with this book yet. I got about half way through it and had to pick up another for the SS team challenge. I have found it a bit hard to follow at times because it switches POV with no queues. It isn't until the words "the new girl" show up that I'm clued in that it's switched from Kera's perspective to someone else's. I think if I were listening to it (providing the narrator is any good) it would be so much better having this type of perspective writing.
I found it a little difficult to follow at first too with changing POV's. I guess after awhile I just got use to it. I did love Kera's reaction to Vig when she saw him again. I think it was funny that she thought he was a homeless vet with his brain scrambled when she was working at the coffee shop.
The crows irritated me with the sink or swim philosophy. If they are a sisterhood and will always have your back, then why didn't they help her with flying and being able to kill when necessary. Their philipohy defintely helped Vig get closer to Kera.
I think Brody is pretty cool.
Finally finished it and was very annoyed with it. As a romance I felt it fell flat. I think the book focused on Kera getting used to her new life rather than a substantial romance. They had quite a bit of sex but romance, not so sure about that. The crows reminded me of a bunch of bubble brained sorority girls rather than the intelligent adults they were supposed to be. Very little is resolved at the end of the book but I'm not sure I'm wanting to read another. I hate when a book has so much potential and fails so miserably. I only gave it 2.5 stars but for GR purposes only 2. I hated their sink or swim philosophy also. Plus it was inconsistent. On one hand they all had that attitude but when Erin admits she didn't teach Kera how to fly Chloe(?) got really angry with her. Why would she if this is the way they normally handle crap?
It seemed like SL changed her writing style with this one. With the other books I have read from her, she doesn't do so many POV's and has everything wrapped up with a HEA at the end. I got the impression that this series is going to be multiple books of Kera and Vig. I'm not too sure how I feel about that. There were some things that I liked about the book, however I'm not sure if it is enough for me to want to read the next one .
